Using: RingCentral Office

RingCentral Phone (formerly SoftPhone) -> Settings -> Calls -> Outgoing tab has an option to select between "Direct Dial" or "RingOut" for outbound calls. As far as I can tell, if I want to change between those two, the only way is through that Settings -> Calls -> Outgoing tab path. But I need to change back and forth between these for almost every call.

This would be much better, at least for us, if these two options weren't isolated from each other. For many calls where it's OK to do as a speakerphone call, I use Direct Dial (just like a call via Skype or RingCentral Meetings). For others, where privacy is more important, I do those as Ring Out through my desk phone (a RingCentral Cisco SPA525G IP phone), where I can grab the handset and keep the call private.

Because I make most calls by selecting a number in an application and pressing my hotkey combination to call it from RingCentral, I need a quick and easy way to simply select Direct Dial or the RingOut Phone # to use per call.

I can think of several solutions that would be much better to use than it is now. I think this would be the easiest for you to implement:

When making a call via RingOut, simply add a "Direct Dial" option to the list of RingOut numbers in the "My Location" drop down to use for making the call.

All of this capability is already built into the RingCentral Phone app, just include the Direct Dial option under Ring Out options and you will have effectively unified these two dialing methods so they are selectable per call instead of having to dig into the Settings -> Calls -> Outgoing tab before every call.

This would save me significant time before every call, dozens of times every single day.
