2019-12-19 RingCentral recently rolled out the option to have a pre-designated group receive a TXT message and email notification each time a user calls 911 services. This is very helpful but very inspecific. It just alerts the group that 911 was called --- not what the problem is.
We have a different need as well for the ability to notify front office at Organization Site when there is a Medical 911 emergency, heart attack, seizure, etc, or Active Shooter on the property.
In the past few years this has become an issue where no one in the front office was aware the emergency was in process and did not answer the phone because each staffer though someone else was going to answer the call.
Creating an front office emergency ring group to ring 10 designated phones in the same work area all at once is how we propose to handle this. It would be very obvious to anyone in the front office that is a unique situation. We are now working to train staff that this is how we are handling it.
We have created an emergency ring group in each of our front offices so 10 users at the front office can be notified simultaneously when an emergency situation occurs.
This allows the front office staff to speak directly to the person reporting the emergency, in the event of medical emergency, active shooter or other.
