Shared Lines having the ability to use Intercom feature (USE A LOCAL SERVER as a Resource!)

The intercom feature is disabled when you set up Ring Central in a Shared Lines configuration. MANY times when clients don't stay with Ring Central, or VoIP in general, it is because they are unable to announce calls in a shared line environment. Or they have individual extensions and try to use the Presence feature. However if one user answers more than one call, anyone monitoring that user with Call presence will not see the 2nd, 3rd or beyond calls when answered.

Tier 2 and 3 techs have explained that this is because users holding calls and sharing calls with other extensions use a lot of bandwidth.  

My suggestion would be to add a local resource to the local network of users that want to be able to intercom each other in a shared environment or to be able to use call presence in a more effective way.  A small server that can act as a bank between the phones and the RC cloud. So shared calls and lines would be held there and NOT out at the cloud level chewing up bandwidth.

Most companies that need this type of feature have servers on site already and if they didn't a small dedicated server could be plugged in somewhere out of the way.

This would be a radical approach but with the availability of cheaper and cheaper network gear, a dedicated Intercom server or handoff server, or whatever you'd brand it could make the feature and bandwidth space it saves very attractive.
