Sorry for any frustration the required login presents, but there are a variety of reasons that this, or any typical community site require logins.
If a login was not required the community would be littered with spam from other companies, or bots that are capable of posting 100s of comments in a very short period of time.
When you log in with your RingCentral credentials, and post a question, your login is tied to your RingCentral account so that we can quickly access and see your account plan type, previous support cases, etc. This helps answer your questions in a much more efficient manner, as we do not have to waste time with back and forth dialogue just to gather basic information.
When we reply to a post we can then direct comments to a specific user as the system posts your name (or nickname if you've entered one).
This community is hosted on a separate platform from our many company CRM and Ticketing system. In the unlikely, but unfortunate event that there is any technical issue with our main CRM or ticketing system, this community serves as an excellent backup for users to get technical support or open support cases if necessary.
There are numerous Private Conversations and Private Topic Categories here on the Community. These are by invitation only, or sometimes based on your user profile. Without a profile in the system, we would have no way of knowing which Topics and Categories you should have access to.
Gamifaction System: We have an unofficial, but fun, awards system here on the Community. Members that log in and post the most helpful content and help answer questions are frequently rewarded with gift cards and/or RingCentral schwag.
