Could anyone explain why the new RC Deployment Tool is version specific? If its function is just to check the web for a newer version and update the RC App shouldn't it be completely separate and not include a version of the app?
The FAQ for the Deployment Tool says that while the app stays current through automatic updates, the tool itself needs to be updated every quarter? We’re already updating RC about once a quarter now so this is not really an improvement.
The tool should be separate so that updating it does not impact the user and does not depend on being able to force RC to close.
