Last week we purchased a compatible expansion module to go with our Mitel phones, did some troubleshooting to set it up for one user myself, since the RingCentral guides were not very helpful, and were not specific enough to actually get the set up done. Took a few hours, but finally came across the (very obvious) "expansion module" dropdown under phone system > phone & devices > user phones > user. Simply changed the number from 0 to 1, had to unplug and replug the phone, and start adding the expansion module contacts from line number 45+. Worked great, the employee was happy. So happy, he requested 3 more for his other office locations.By the time the other 3 expansion modules were delivered, there was some sort of firmware update, that no longer allowed us to select different numbers in the dropdown. All incoming calls are answered live on desk phones (Poly Edge).  How do I program the RingCentral system to display Custom Caller ID information on incoming calls from non RC users such as clients or employee cell phone numbers.IE - if cell number 973-222-2222 calls our main phone number and the user of that cell number has chosen to display only the phone number, I want to program the system to recognize it as “JOHN SMITH CELL” and have that text displayed instead of or in addition to the caller id information being pushed by the carrier.

Please create a feature in the admin portal to block specific numbers from calling all company and user phone numbers, along with SMS/Fax. Currently having to do so user by user is extremely time consuming and put our company at risk when scammers are calling all of our employees hoping one will fall for the scam. These protocols need quickly added and operational.

Anyone know how to easily cancel a RingCentral account?  I’ve grown tired of their terrible support.  

We have turned on incoming call recording for most of our extensions.  We excluded a few extensions (executives).  But when these executives call other extensions, they are recorded since incoming calls to that extension are set to record.  How can we exclude certain extensions to never be recorded, even when calling other extensions that are set to record incoming calls?  We are also fine with recording ONLY incoming calls from external sources and excluding all internal calls.  But a Ring Central FAQ said this is not possible.  I realize there is an option to only record call queues, but this isn’t enough since many calls are direct and don’t go through a queue.  I’m confident there are other companies that want to exclude certain people from being recorded from all calls.  How do they achieve this?

2025-09-07 Our company has operations in approximately 90 locations in Canada and the USA and has been using a single RingCentral account (using site codes) since 2020. We recently acquired 2 separate businesses in the Mexico City area (Polonco and Cuautitlan) that we want to integrate into the same account to make it easier for our IT team to manage. The issue is that we are not sure if the Mexican phone network is compatible with the NA network, and since we do not speak Spanish there would be a challenge in making the request to port existing Mexican legacy phone numbers.  I am aware of the RingCentral partnership with MCM Telecom for Mexico and wonder if contacting MCM is the required route to follow.  Does anyone have experience with this or recommendations?

I want the incoming calls to ring simultaneously, with about 10 in my corporate department.  How do I set that up?

We have an unused limited extension that is disabled, and need to make is a Call Queue.

I need to disable all INCOMING caller ID information on 1 specific phone line. The line is for anonymous tips. What is the process / timeline for renewals? Our first year is up in just over a month, and there are changes we want to make to our plan.

I’ve tried to cancel my service via phone (no one picks up / keeps me on hold forever), web chat (no response / agent drops off mid-convo), and direct email to my RC rep (just went back through my email and found the last person I dealt with) – no success. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make this happen other than going through my bank to dispute my last charge and block all future charges, which I really shouldn’t have to do.Does anyone have any advice on getting RC to reply? I’m on an email thread with my supposed Account Rep who hasn’t responded to a single one of my follow-ups.This service from this company is truly appalling. Help! 

The phones and extensions were not correctly set up. How do I change extension assignments and the correct phone that is associated with the extension and location?

Hello everyone,I need help with users group. I have configured a group to give the manager access to call logs for their Team. The manager is part of the group, and they have RingEX Licenses and Live Reports licenses assigned.What permissions does the Manager need to have?    I have tried to give the Company call logs>access Recording.But that gives access to all Recording calls, no just to the groups member.    

Can I monitor two extensions simultaneously on my desktop. Currently I have one extension open in the NEW ringcentral phone desktop app and a second extension open using the OLD ringcentral phone desktop app. That allows me to see the activity on both extensions at the same time. The OLD ringcentral phone desktop app is being phased out and I expect it will lose functionality. Is there a way for me to continue to monitor the activity on both extensions simultaneously using only yhe new ring central phone desktop app?

Is there a way to keep track of how many calls a person picks up throught out the day?

I have had my port out request for some of my numbers rejected twice with no follow up.  I have emailed the NTP helpdesk twice for support and received no assistance.I require urgent assistance as 6/10 of our numbers are scheduled to port next week and these 4 (including our main number) repeatedly fail for real reason.I will be contacting the CRTC through the CCTS as well if I dont get a very quick response.Neal JonesIOT ManagerCashion Legal

I want to change the hold music for the main phone line. I have figured out how to change it for each person’s extension, but this only applies after that person picks answers the phone. I want to change the music that plays before an extension is picked up. 

How do i place someone on hold and play music? I didn’t see an option in settings

Hi,I’m building an integration with RingCentral and JobTread for a client, and I’m trying to configure the RingCentral settings so that Automatic Notes & Transcripts are always enabled at an organization level. Since there’s no organization-level option for enabling this, I’m wondering how else I can accomplish this.I originally thought I’d have to do this by instructing each user to go to RC App → Settings → AI → Automatic Notes and Transcripts and enabling it, but I saw that there was a new setting on the admin panel, where we can go to the RC Admin Portal → Users → User List → Users with Extensions (or without) → click a user → Expand the AI section → click the AI assistant heading → Enable AI Assistant and Automatic Call Notes. I thought this would at least allow the company administrator to be responsible for enabling this setting, but when I made the change I saw that the Automatic Notes & Transcripts setting was still disabled on my (user) RC app instance (in RC App → Se

How can I get Ring Central to EXPEDITE my telephone number porting over. It is my existing number!!!! I have no active telephone service until this is done!!!!! Ring Central says it will be at least 2 weeks. I also ordered my phones through RC and paid $36 for overnight shipping on a Thursday and didn’t receive the phones until the following Monday afternoon!!!!

We have Poly Edge E450 IP Phone.  I know we can set up the intercom to another user but I need to know how to set up intercom to a group or multiple users?  I know the phones have a paging system, but we need to be able to have an individual pick up the phone anywhere in the building.  We don’t have employees that stay in one place all day.  We need to be able to say “Jane?” and have that user pick up an extension closest to them and be able to talk back to the user initiating the intercom call.  Literally right now what we’re doing is “Jane, call John back at his extension.”   

My company wants each user to be able to receive their own faxes. Each user has a number type with “Voice and Fax” enabled, so they should be able to call and fax. The plan is that the users can give their RingCentral numbers to clients so that said users can receive their own faxes rather than one user or extension receiving them all. However, every fax that I send to User A’s number seems to go to the Fax/SMS recipient who is User B. I’ve tried adjusting some settings but to no avail. Maybe it’s not possible or I’m adjusting the wrong settings or not all of them. Here’s what I’ve done so far:My number along with User A’s has their “Fax number” set to their own user’s RingCentral number (not the company’s number) in both their Caller ID settings and Fax Settings. Both my user and User A’s have access to Fax features. My number and User A’s are set to “Voice and Fax”.Assuming it is possible for individual users in our company to receive their own faxes, what are all the settings I have
