Question

No assigned delegates?

Having trouble assigning delegates, I get a message stating that “You have no assigned delegates. Please contact your administrator for assistance.” But for the delegator, I have gone into Presence, under Permissions and checked the box for the user under “Select users permitted to answer my calls:”

Under that delegate, I have checked the box for “Enable me to pick up a monitored line on hold”

But going back to the delegator and selecting the Delegates option, it gives the error message above.

Am I missing a step here or doing something incorrect?

Hi @RyanK,

Even after setting Presence permissions, you must explicitly link the users in the Delegates menu.

  1. Log in to the RingCentral Admin Portal.
  2. Go to the Users tab and select Users with Extensions.
  3. Click on the name of the Delegator (the person whose calls will be handled).
  4. On the left-hand menu, click Phones & Numbers (or Devices & Numbers).
  5. Click the More (three-dot) icon at the top right of that section and select Delegates.
  6. Here, you will likely see the list is empty. Click Assign Delegate, select the desired user, and click Save.

Let me know if this helped or not. 🙂

No, when I click that Delegates option under the User, that is when I get a message stating "You have no assigned delegates. Please contact your administrator for assistance.” and I am unable to access the Delegates window to continue to assign one.

Are you the admin on the account?

I’m an admin, but not a Super Admin.  I will check with a Super Admin and see if there is a permission missing for me that may be stopping me from accessing this.

I see—this is probably the reason why. Please keep me updated on how it goes.
