Phone will light and up and ring with no sound coming from it. Volume is already maxed out. The only method I've seen to bring back the volume is reducing it to 0 and then max again.

Sounds like either your audible Ringer is set to something other than the phone's speaker, or you have silent ring enabled on your line. Sometimes the phones ship with silent ring enabled.
