Can anyone tell me if it is possible to add pauses into the text to speech function in ring central? The way it is done sounds very unnatural and would benefit from some pauses in certain places. Thanks Alex

01-12-2018  If your RingCentral account comes with the IVR (Interactive Voice Recordings) feature,  you have the option of using the Text To Speech utility for the menus or you can use individually recorded sound clips which you can upload to your account's Sound Clip Library.

Some of our IVRs are multi-tiered so usually we use text-to-speech on those because it would be a hungry monster to change the voiceclips on them as personnel changes occur.

Because we have many users, we use the text-to-speech by default for User Names or  if a role account phone like a Courtesy Phone, for that extension id announcement.

We have it setup through ROLES  that a user can elect to record their own name announcement in a sound clip if they choose.

But when we roll out new users - we always use the Text-To-Speech initially

Here is a IVR programming sample when using text to speech options

and prompt it with "Press 0 for support ,,,, Press 1 for sales,,,,

I've inserted serveral commas, and it doesn't appear to make a difference. Does this still apply, using commas?

Apparently each comma is a few milliseconds, so use lots of them.
