Are JWT tokens different in production and sandbox?

To create JWT credentials on a user that is done in the developers page. Is that credential the same for the sandbox apps and the production apps?

When creating a JWT token from the developers portal, you should see the option to select an environment, Sandbox or Production. This means that the JWT tokens are different.
