Is there a way to have a call ring the receptionist and then be sent to an IVR menu if no-one answers?

Yes, you can disable the receptionist voicemail and have it connect to your menu. You can also do the same if you are utilizing a call queue for your receptionist, but the advanced routing options for queues depend on the version you're using of RC. Just keep in mind that disabling the receptionist's VM and connecting to a menu will result in the receptionist no longer having VM. You would need to create a separate Message Only Extension and select your receptionist as the recipient if you wish for them to continue having a VM box.
