We’re pleased to announce the release of App Connect 1.4, a version shaped directly by conversations with customers. Many of you have said you love App Connect, but often followed that with a request: “I just wish it could do one more thing.” This release is packed with those “one more thing” features — improvements that matter in day-to-day use.
New in this release: Google Sheets adapter
One of the most exciting additions is our new Google Sheets adapter. This expands App Connect’s reach to organizations that may not use a dedicated CRM. Many small and medium-sized businesses rely on tools they already have, and Google Sheets is often at the center of that. We see this adapter as a practical solution for those working more informally or leanly, and we’re eager to hear how you use it.
Highlights from App Connect 1.4
Log communications all at once
A new setting under “Call and SMS logging” allows you to delay logging until all call artifacts — recordings, transcripts, AI-generated notes — are ready. By default, App Connect logs incrementally, creating and then updating records. But for organizations that restrict users from editing communication records, this option ensures App Connect can create complete records without requiring edit permissions.
Server-side call logging is now available for all CRMs
Originally available only to Bullhorn users, server-side call logging is now open to all App Connect customers. After a successful beta period, we’re confident in its performance and ready to offer it more broadly.
Improved consistency in call logging behavior
We’ve made changes behind the scenes to ensure a more reliable and predictable call logging experience. Calls are now logged immediately upon receipt, then updated as needed throughout their lifecycle, regardless of the method used to log them.
Customizable tab visibility
Some customers asked to remove SMS or Chat tabs they don’t use. Now, you can customize which tabs are visible in App Connect, tailoring the interface to your organization’s needs.
Manage call queue presence
Users can now manage their presence on specific queues directly within App Connect under the “Status” settings area. This allows for quicker queue management without needing to open the RingCentral desktop app.
Voicemail transcripts
When listening to voicemails in App Connect, users will now see transcripts alongside the audio. This provides quick access to voicemail content and helps streamline follow-ups.
More consistent behavior for multi-match scenarios
We’ve improved the way App Connect handles contact selection when there are multiple matches. Once a contact is selected for a phone call, that selection will now persist consistently across screens. This resolves an issue where users had to re-select the same contact multiple times.
CRM-specific enhancements
Clio
-
When linking a call to a matter, users can now hover over the matter name to see its description in a tooltip.
-
Closed matters will no longer appear in the list of available matters when linking phone calls.
Bullhorn
-
We've collaborated with Bullhorn’s technical team to improve session handling and reduce the frequency of unexpected logouts. While Bullhorn's auto-logout policy remains aggressive, these changes should help minimize disruption.
NetSuite
For customers with large data sets, App Connect now includes advanced options to improve performance and reduce timeouts:
-
Restrict searches to the Main Phone Number field.
-
Limit searches to Contacts and/or Customers.
-
Enable or disable searches of Sales Orders.
Try out server-side call logging
We believe server-side logging is ready for broader use and would appreciate your feedback. Please try it out and let us know what you think.
Note: If your browser updates automatically, you’ll need to re-enable App Connect after the update is complete.
A quick look at App Connect 1.4.1
