There is a few things that could happen in the process, please check:

  1. Whether auto log setting is ON
  2. Whether it’s any case in below which needs user decision & action to resolve
    1. Multiple matched contacts
    2. Unknown contacts
    3. Multiple matters associated with the contact
  3. Transient issue. If this case, auto log would sometimes work and sometimes not.

Please also try if manual logging works or not. Thanks!

@Will C. We have released 1.3.8 that could help improve some underlying stability issues we have been experiencing. Early indicators show that 1.3.8 is much more stable. 

But ​@dakong’s answer shared with you some things you can do to make sure things are configured properly to log calls. 

Finally, Clio’s API is incredibly limited when it comes to search, making it very difficult sometimes to match a phone number with a Clio contact/matter. Please read the following guide to help with this:
