Does ring central have a TAPI driver that I can use accessaphone?

I have a TAPI application that makes my phone accessible to someone with low to no vision. This TAPI application allows me to control the phone via keyboard. A requirement of the TAPI application is that it needs a TAPI driver. Does ring central have a TAPI driver that I can use so this TAPI application - accessaphone - can control my ring central phone?

I highly doubt it since TAPI has gone the way of the dodo..  So the requirement is to make calls using computer keyboard instead of phone set?  Couldn't you try using the RingCentral desktop app?

I've asked our engineering team and they've informed me we do not have a TAPI driver available. I have sent an email to other members of our staff to see if I can locate a suitable alternative, and I will respond here if I am able to provide more information.

Apparently the engineering team didn’t have an alternative.  Shame since RingCentral’s desktop dialing capability leaves something to be desired compared to TAPI compliant dialers.

I genuinely appreciate your feedback and understand the frustration when a specific workflow isn't available out of the box.

To clarify the context: TAPI (Telephony Application Programming Interface) is a Windows-specific technology that was designed for traditional on-premise telephony environments. Because it's inherently platform-dependent, it isn't something that can be supported on macOS or replicated natively across all environments — this is a constraint of the standard itself rather than a gap in our engineering.

That said, RingCentral does offer modern, cross-platform alternatives designed to deliver the same outcomes:

- RingCentral REST APIs & SDKs — enable click-to-dial, call control, and screen pop integrations across any OS, including macOS and Linux, without platform dependencies.

- CRM & CTI Integrations — RingCentral's open CTI framework supports many of the workflows that TAPI-compliant dialers provide, with native integrations for Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, and more.

- Browser-Based Click-to-Dial — available via the RingCentral desktop app and browser extensions for seamless dialing from web-based tools.

I'd love the opportunity to understand your specific workflow in more detail. So that I can help map your current TAPI-based process to the right modern integration — and in many cases, the API-based approach actually offers greater flexibility and cross-platform reach.

If you are open to a brief call to explore options, please let me know.
