Collaborating with others in the RingCentral Developer Console is essential for efficient app development and management. By adding developers to your account, your team can collectively access and manage applications, credentials, analytics, and resources.

Adding a Developer to Your Developer Console Account

For paying customers, access to the Developer Console is governed by your company's roles, permissions, and policies. To grant a colleague access:RingCentral Developers

  1. Register the Developer in the Admin Console:

    • Log in to the RingCentral Admin Console.

    • Navigate to the "Users" tab.

    • Click the "Add User" button.

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to add the new user.

Note: If the "Users" tab or the "Features" section is not visible, it indicates insufficient permissions. In such cases, contact your system administrator with Super Admin privileges.

  2. Assign the Appropriate Role with Developer Portal Access:

    • In the Admin Console, ensure the new user is assigned a role that includes the "Developer Portal Access" permission.

    • This permission is located under the "Features" permission group.

Once assigned, the developer can log in to the Developer Console without receiving a formal invitation email. Access is granted based on their existing user credentials and assigned permissions.

Understanding Developer Roles

After a developer logs in for the first time, admins can assign one of the following roles:

  • Developer Admin: Can manage any app, developers, and developer JWT credentials.

  • Developer: Can manage only the apps they create and their personal JWT credentials.

  • Audit-user: Has view-only access to apps and profiles.

To become a Developer Admin, contact an existing admin within your organization. The list of Developer Admins can be found under the "Organization" tab in the Developer Console.

By following these steps, you can effectively collaborate with your team in the RingCentral Developer Console, ensuring streamlined app development and management.

Dear @ByrneReese

Could you please clarify which type of user we need to select? I’m having trouble understanding why there isn’t an invite button in the console, it’s quite frustrating.

If there’s a specific setting that needs to be configured for the invite button to appear, please let me know.

Unfortunately, phone and chat support haven’t been able to provide an answer, and our submitted tickets have not received any response.

Here the screen: https://prnt.sc/3LqMFhKY0rfl

@CAMA You are right - it is a very fair expectation to have an invite user button here. That is something we hope to add in the future.

But as for the type of user you want to add, there is no right or wrong answer. Generally I recommend adding a RingCentral Video Pro user which is free. The user won’t have the ability to make phone calls, but they can use the Developer Console to register and manage apps.

If the user already has a RingCentral account, then you just need to have them login to the Developer Console. There is no need to “invite” them.
