Welcome to another "Getting Started with RingCentral" series! In this installment, we'll focus on adjusting your multi-site's caller ID name, which allows you to display different caller ID names based on your business setup. Let's explore how you can customize your account's caller ID name to best suit your needs.
What is the Caller ID Name?
Your Caller ID name (CNAM) is the name displayed to recipients outside your organization. You can assign a caller ID name to your entire company, a specific site within your multi-site setup, or an individual phone number.
What problem does this solve for me?
- Professional image: It shows the business name or number, making your business easily identifiable to your customers.
- Avoid being marked as spam: It helps customers know they’re talking to a legitimate business, reducing the chances of being mistaken for spam.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensures businesses meet legal requirements for showing correct caller info.
- Avoiding confusion with other offices: Multi-site Caller ID Name helps distinguish between locations, ensuring that customers or clients know which office or department is reaching out.
