Custom Answering Rule with Date/Time settings Doesn't Set the Custom Rule to Active

When I create a holiday message under Auto-Receptionist/General Settings/Call Handling/Custom Rules , the date and time settings don’t automatically set the rule to active. For example, when I set a holiday greeting on the auto-receptionist to run conditionally on a date and/or time, the rule will not be set automatically and I have to manually go in and toggle the active slider. Is this by design or am I missing something in my rule set? (The schedule has expired in the pic below as I am writing this days after the event).

Sam,

In the above image, the rule is not turned on.

The Active by saving is by design, so yes - you need to turn on which Custom rules you want to apply.  We’ve set up the entire year - and have them all Active - so that we don’t have to come back and flip them on manually.

Once the date/time have passed, that rule is then ignored in the logic.

I would also select #2 - the number being called, and select the incoming line(s) you want this to apply to.

Hope that helps.

Problem Solver

I tested this on my account - when I add a custom rule it is automatically active.
I suggest you double check More > Audit Trail
There you can see if somebody Disabled the custom rule (For example search for the rule name “Thanksgiving” and you should see results of when you created the rule and also if any changes to the rule were made.

can you try adding a new custom rule and double check if it is automatically active or not?

Did another one to test, I included the time in the screen grab as well. Still not working on my end. I also cleaned up all other old holiday rules to see if there were any conflicts.

That’s the ticket. Thank you for your help!
