I have Ring Central EX and I’m trying to block an OUTBOUND  number from being called by my office.   I have a former customer who’s asked us not to call them any longer and I’m hearing that Ring Central can’t do this for the EX platform.   I’m shocked that a major phone system doesn’t have this extremely important feature.

Yes I know that I can block a number from calling me but instead I want to block a number so that nobody on my staff can call them.

I hate what I am about to suggest because it’s not a solution. But on the other hand there are no downsides to doing it and it might make it less likely that your users call a number that doesn’t wish to be contacted

- let’s say you want to block outbound calls to 0123456789
- add a contact DO NOT CALL with phone number 0123456789 to the External shared contacts directory.
- when users try to call the phone number, the app will match the phone number with the contact so just before they press the button to make a call they would see a suggestion to call the DO NOT CALL contact and hopefully realize they should not be calling that number.

PRO: it’s something you can actually do right now
CON1: it won’t block the number.
CON2: you need to instruct your users not to make a call if they see DO NOT CALL

Thanks for your help, I’ll give that a shot but it just shocks me that for the price of these systems that they don’t have what I’d consider an extremely basic function built into the system.
