Is the shared contact list feature not added yet? We do believe its an important and very helpful feature.

Following up on this sine the note was 2 years ago - is this still not an option to have a shared contact list so if we save a number with a name it will show up right on our CallerID when they call any of our lines?

Currently, there isn't a dedicated API endpoint available to manage the shared directory of external contacts in the RingCentral Admin Portal. At this time, external contacts must be managed manually through the Admin Portal by uploading a contact list template, as detailed in the support article shared by Mary.

To update the directory with new external contacts, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Download the Current List: Export the existing external contact list from the Admin Portal.
  2. Edit the List: Add the new contact(s) to the exported file while ensuring the formatting matches the required template.
  3. Re-Upload: Upload the updated list back to the Admin Portal, replacing the previous version.

This process ensures all contacts remain consistent and properly formatted, but it does involve manual intervention for updates.

If you're looking for programmatic management of external contacts, this capability might not yet be supported. We recommend submitting this functionality as a feature request in the RingCentral Ideas Portal so the development team can review and potentially prioritize this in future updates.
