I want 1 person from the IT team to be able to manage my RingCentral line without having to have a phone line, he does not need any calls, video or anything else. Only requirement is SuperAdmin to be able to configure users with lines, order phone and lines, etc. He manages all of this for me as I am busy and I don’t understand technology.

Add a new free video pro user and assign it the super admin role under setup options. This user will not have a phone line, the extension you use does not have to be in the range you are currently using i.e 9999. The user will have super admin permissions without taking up a license.

Great answer, @Lhomem,

Just to add,

You can invite your IT manager to the account by creating a user profile that does not have a digital line attached to it. Here is how to set this up:

1. Add a User Without a License

When adding a new user in the Admin Portal, you have the option to add them as an Unassigned User or simply not assign a Digital Line to their extension.

  • Go to Users > User List > Users with Extensions.

  • Click Add User.

  • Ensure you do not select a "Calling Plan" or "Digital Line" for this specific user. This keeps the user free of monthly recurring service charges.

2. Assign the "Super Admin" Role

Once the user is added to the system:

  • Select the IT person’s name from the User List.

  • Go to the User Details tab.

  • Look for User Roles and click Edit.

  • Select Super Admin from the list. This gives them full permission to order new lines, manage billing, and configure other users.

3. Verification & Login

Your IT manager will receive an invitation email. They can set up their own password and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Since they don't have a phone line, they will log in to the Service Web (service.ringcentral.com) to manage your account from their computer.
