RingCentral Help

We just finished Ring Central Implementation. During working hours, the phones ring in Sales Queue however after hours it rings to all 4 production buildings. No one hears in the plants because only the phone rings which is in an unmanned office. I need the phone to ring through paging speakers after hours. How can I accomplish that?

A second question is how do I Park a Call and show it parked until answered?

Thanks

HI @Polyman, standard desk phones cannot "broadcast" a ringtone to an external speaker system on their own. You likely need a SIP Paging Adapter (such as an Algo 8180 or CyberData SIP Alerter). This device acts like a "virtual phone" that connects to your speaker system and can be programmed to play a loud ringer or broadcast audio when called.

How to Configure Park Locations (Visible Parking)

  1. Create Park Location Groups:

    • In the Admin Portal, go to Phone System > Groups > Park Locations.

    • Click + New Park Location. Name it "Park 1," "Park 2," etc.

  2. Assign Users: * Add the employees who need to see these parked calls as Members of the group.

  3. Set Up "Presence" on Desk Phones:

    • Go to Users > User List > [Select User] > Phone > Presence.

    • Assign the Park Location groups to the available line keys on their desk phones.

    • Result: The button on the physical phone will now light up (usually red or blinking) when a call is parked there, and stay lit until someone picks it up.

How to Use It:

  • To Park: During a call, the user simply presses the Park 1 button on their desk phone (or selects it in the HUD of the Desktop App).

  • To Retrieve: Any member of the group will see the light blinking on their own phone. They simply press that button to pick up the call.
