Good afternoon,

We're on day 3 with RingCentral, and we're finding things we really like and little things that make us scratch our head. Overall it's been a pretty good experience.

I have something weird going on with the desktop app. When I try to answer a call on Glip there is a 10-15 second delay before the call is answered. When I dial a number there is a 10-15 second delay before it dials.

This morning I was in My Extension on service.ringcentral.com. I recorded a new Voicemail Greeting. I left that Window up, and all day long the app calls have been working nearly instantly. I don't experience any delay or issues. As soon as I closed that My Extension on the website the delays reappeared. I reopened the website, made sure my microphone was active on that page, and Glip is back to working without issues.

I have a $35 pair of Logitech headphones, and they haven't given me any issues on other programs. It's a USB connection directly into my computer. I'm using Microsoft Edge as my browser. I have the latest release of the app installed.

I'm aware my headphones aren't on the supported list (I don't think this is the reason, but it could be). I was curious if anyone else experienced this issue and if they discovered a resolution.

Thanks in advance!

I'm experiencing this same issue and do not see a response....please help!

Bump.  This is driving me up the wall!  Using desktop app version 25.2.1011.641 Windows (x64) on Windows 11. It takes 6-10 seconds for calls to begin after clicking DIAL or ANSWER.  I takes 3-5 seconds to move between tabs, like from Phone to Messages.

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you’re running into this! I checked, and there haven’t been any reported issues from our app team related to call delays or tab switching on the desktop app.

This could potentially be related to local network conditions or system performance. A few recommendations you might want to try:

  • Check your internet connection speed and stability — a high latency or unstable connection can cause delays in call handling and app responsiveness.

  • Restart your RingCentral app and your computer to refresh any cached processes.

  • Clear the app cache:

    • On top left of the app page, Click Help > Troubleshooting > Reset App Data.

  • Ensure your app is up to date — although you’re on version 25.2.1011.641, it’s good to double-check for any minor patch updates.

  • Disable any VPN or firewall restrictions temporarily to test if they’re affecting app performance.

  • If possible, test on a different network (like a mobile hotspot) to see if the issue persists.

If none of these help, I’d recommend opening a case with our support team so they can review this more closely.

Hope this helps — keep us posted on how it goes!
