We want to keep our business numbers with Ring Central for voice but we also text with customers from our business number. Because we have several different businesses and because there's no easy way to tell which number a customer has 'texted' within the glip/rc phone interface - it doesn't work well for us. We'd much rather have texts go into our team inbox platform (FrontApp). We can do this using twilio but they were unsure if, when going through the verification process, if Ring Central would allow Twilio to handle the SMS portion while keeping the number for voice.

Did you ever find a solution for this?
I too am interested in the answer to this. Many CRM platforms handle twillio SMS but not Ringcentral SMS.

Any more information on if you can do this? We have a third party app that uses Twilio for SMS and would like our main number to be on RingCentral for voice, and the SMS hosted for the main number on Twilio.

Update: Yes, this can be done if your numbers are held with Ring Central. Twilio will send a request to Ring Central and they will take over the SMS trunking while Ring Central continues to handle voice. As a result, we are able to use tools on the SMS side, outside of Ring Central (ie: shared inboxes and what not).

Another potentially easier solution is to get a new phone number for your ringcentral account and port the existing number to Twilio - you can then use Twilio Studio to forward voice calls to your ringcentral number and send sms to FrontApp

My Twilio Campaign was accepted and my Ring Central campaign attempts keep failing (3 times, with your guidance!). What can I do to have Twilio take over the SMS part of my business while still using Ring Central for calls and faxes? Can you please provide a step by step guide?  And which number should I use - the Twilio or the Ring Central for outgoing and incoming texts AND responsive links?
