We recently migrated our entire company to RC. We have all Poly VVX350s. When the phones boot up the users name and ext show for every line button.

I have followed all the instructions I can find on this relating to creating contacts, marking favorites and assigning index numbers to them Supposedly that is supposed to make the new contacts appear next to the line buttons in descending order.

It does not.

I found this 3yr old post that explains that I can go into the admin portal and go to Presence and assign an ext to the 3rd line button and that unlocks the other buttons, now the favorites in descending order appear as designed.

The problem is, we don’t want to go assign a random ext to all 2500 users just so they can then program their own line speed dials.

This looks like it was an unintended feature 3 YEARS ago, how has this not been fixed? 

What is a workaround to NOT have to have an admin manually assign an ext to every phone and then allow users to assign their own lines?
