I am trying to view SMS text messages from a couple of numbers sent to one of our lines. From my research, the SMS log should appear under the Reports section in the Reports tab, but I don’t see it.

Should it automatically show up under my admin account, or do I need to create a custom report?

You're absolutely correct that the SMS Log is the place to view those text messages in the Admin Portal! It's a standard feature for administrators and should appear automatically; you generally don't need to create a custom report for it.

To view your SMS text messages for a line:

  1. Log in to the RingCentral Admin Portal.

  2. From the top menu, click on Reports.

  3. Then, select SMS Log.

From this page, you can search by phone number, filter by direction, and even download logs for longer periods (up to one year) as a CSV file for detailed review.

If you're an Admin and still don't see "SMS Log" under the Reports tab after checking your permissions, it might indicate a specific account configuration or a temporary display glitch. In that case, reaching out to RingCentral Support would be the best next step.
