In the Classic App, you can easily select/delete multiple messages at one time.

I cannot figure out how to do this in the new app.

Am I just missing something? I send and receive hundreds of texts per day and like to be able to go in and clean up my inbox.

Hi @Kelly, this capability is not yet available on the new RingCentral App. We will reach out to our Product Team about this. Thank you!

I am not sure this is identical, but seems in the same vein. It would be great if you could select and close multiple messages in the Direct Message are of the RC App. Right now you appear to have to close one at a time (see article: https://support.ringcentral.com/app/message/desktop-web/closing-conversation-ringcentral-app.html). But as things progress there are "stale" direct message threads that I would like to close. Otherwise the message window on left side of RC App gets busy and Team notifications fall down off screen. Hope I am explaining that right. Knowing that RC Users are using this more than I, perhaps they have figured out a solution to this I have yet to discover.

I can see multiple feature request is there for the same in idea portal:

Hi @ele1215, there is an option to do this.

Deleting multiple conversations

  • Click the Text tab.
  • Click the three-dot More icon (a), then select Edit  (b).
  • Check the boxes next to the texts you want to delete.
  • Click the Delete (trash) icon.

Thank you, but I was able to figure out how to delete texts.  I am trying to do the same thing with messages; I have both, as you can see below. That process does not work for messages

Hey, @ele1215
1.) If you're wanting to delete a post in a group, you can use the three dots next to your post.

2.) If you’re wanting to delete a whole team messaging discussion, you can “leave” the discussion entirely, or you can “hide conversation”.
Note: that the latter removes it from your sidebar view, but the other person still has the history unless you deleted your individual posts first.

3.) Keep in mind: Even if you delete a message, the Admin on the account may have Data Retention or Compliance Reports turned on. This means that the message is gone from the app UI, but it might still exist in the back-end archive for legal or HR review.

Hope this helps, but if you need further assistance, please circle back to this thread.

Pro-Tip!

If you just want to get a conversation out of your sight without destroying the history, use the "Mute" function or simply close the conversation (click the X on the sidebar). This keeps the data intact but cleans up your interface.
