offboarding RingCentral from org

Looking into replacing RC and moving back to Teams calling. I won’t go into details as to why, but we haven’t been super satisfied with the product and support. Now that MS offers pay-as-you-go SMS, it’s become a much better option for us.

There doesn’t seem to be any information or KBs on how to properly offboard Ringcentrals integration for direct calling within teams. I would love some information pertaining to this.

Hi @NeilPGR,

Truly sorry to hear that your experience with RingCentral hasn’t met your expectations, and that you're now considering a transition back to Teams calling. We deeply value your feedback, and it’s concerning to know that things haven’t gone as smoothly as they should have.

Regarding your question about offboarding RingCentral’s direct calling integration with Teams, you're correct that there's no single, standardized offboarding guide, as the process can vary depending on how your system was originally configured. That said, here are a few key steps to help you plan your transition:

 Crucial Offboarding Steps:

  1. Number Porting

    • Important: Do not cancel your RingCentral service until all your phone numbers have been successfully ported to your new provider.

  2. Data Export

    • Be sure to export any critical data you may need, such as call recordings, voicemails, faxes, and call logs before canceling the service.

  3. Support

    • For account-specific guidance, including billing and integration-related questions, send me a DM so I can help with getting you connected to the right team for assistance.

We hope this helps make your offboarding process a little easier. If there’s anything else we can assist you with during this time, we’re here to support you.
