I'm trying to configure my RingCentral setup to route calls and text messages to specific operators, but I'm a bit stuck on how to get it working exactly the way I want.
Here's the situation:
- I have a main company phone number (number1) and an operator1 phone number (number2)
- I would like operator1 to ONLY receive the text messages and voice calls to number2 (their direct line)
- I would like operator2 to receive BOTH SMS and Voice calls for both number1 (the main company line) and number2 (their own line)
Essentially, operator1 should only handle their own direct communication, while operator2 needs to be able to field everything coming in to both lines.
Is this possible to configure within RingCentral?
I've been brainstorming a few ideas, but I'm not sure if they're the best or even feasible:
- Create a new RingCentral account (account2) and have operator2 log in to both account1 and account2. This seems a bit messy, and I'm not sure how call routing would work in this scenario.
- Use another service entirely for one of the numbers. This would add complexity and potentially cost.
I'd really appreciate any guidance or suggestions from the community on how to achieve this setup. Is there a simpler way to do this within RingCentral itself?
