Thanks for clarifying that you'd like just one person to handle these incoming SMS messages. That makes it much simpler!
All incoming SMS messages to your main company number will appear in the "Messages" section of their RingCentral app. They can usually find this by clicking on "Text" in the navigation bar, or by going to "Inbox" and then selecting "Text." Their conversations will be organized from newest to oldest, and they can click on any conversation to see the full history and reply.
To ensure these messages go to that specific person:
-
If your main company number is directly assigned to that person's extension, they will automatically receive the SMS.
-
If your main company number routes through an Auto Receptionist or a Call Queue, you'll need to make sure that specific person is set as the SMS recipient for that route. For Call Queues, the first Full Access manager assigned to the queue will automatically be the SMS recipient.
For more details on how SMS recipients are assigned for Call Queues, you can refer to this article:(https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/assigning-an-sms-recipient-for-call-queues-in-the-ringcentral-app-and-admin-portal.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US).
Let me know if you have clarifications.
