Hello RingCentral Community!

As mobile carriers introduce new texting regulations, all business SMS users are required to register with The Campaign Registry (TCR) to ensure compliance. With that being said,  we have seen that the TCR has been one of our most frequently asked questions here in the RingCentral community.

With the TCR registration deadline fast approaching on December 1st, we’ve laid out a clear series for steps to guide you through the process. Our detailed checklist covers all the requirements and actions you’ll need to complete. Here’s what you need to know to get your SMS messaging system up and running efficiently.

Key Requirements for SMS Registration with TCR

Before you start the registration process, make sure you have the following information and documents ready:

  • A copy of your Employer identification number (EIN) for US customers or Business Number for Canadian customers
  • Information on the types of services provided by your company, use cases for your text communications, and examples of the text messages you will send.
  • Details about how you obtain consent to send text messages (verbal, email, online form, etc.).
  • A list of the phone numbers you plan to use for SMS.

Steps to Register with The Campaign Registry (TCR)

  1. Log In to Your RingCentral Account:
  2. Access the SMS Registration Section and register
  3. Review and Confirm:
    • Review all the information that was provided and check the TCR registration fee.
    • Once all information has been reviewed, finish the registration.
  4. Wait for Approval:
    • Mobile carriers require 5-20 days to review your TCR SMS application. During this time, you’ll see changes in the status of your registration.
    • Once your submission is approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email. If your application is not approved, you’ll receive an email indicating why and outlining any changes you’ll need to make before re-submitting. Learn more about troubleshooting TCR rejections.
  5. Monitor and Maintain Compliance:

What qualifications does the Ringcentral TCR team have? Are they inhouse or outsourced?

@akjaxbeach All of our team members supporting TCR are in house and we’re happy to help you connect to them.
Send myself or @Mary-Community_Moderator a DM and we’ll lend a hand.
