I am having serious problems with the app. If I log into Pipedrive and connect to my RingCentral number, it asks me to uninstall / install the app on the Pipedrive marketplace. When I do that, it kicks out my coworker from their Pipedrive / RingCentral account and asks them to uninstall/install the app again in the marketplace.

This will keep happening. I have 3 Pipedrive logins and 3 RingCentral phone lines, how do I connect all of them?

@sunelwal I wanted to apologize for any difficulty you have been experiencing. I have personally investigated what you have reported, and am not currently able to reproduce it. We will continue to investigate however and update this post when we learn something new.

In the meantime, for others who may be experiencing something similar, let me share with you what we know about Pipedrive and its authorization process.

Pipedrive requires app developers such as RingCentral to initiate all new app connections from their marketplace. By intermediating that connection, they know when a user has successfully connected to an application, and can then reflect that connection state in the marketplace. If an app is successfully installed, you will see a “Manage App” button. If it is not yet installed, you will see an “Install” button.

The design of Pipedrive’s marketplace is well intentioned, but it comes with some unintentional side effects.

  • A Pipedrive app can only be installed once per user. Meaning, if the same person installs the Unified CRM extension on a home computer and work computer, then only one of those computers can be connected at a time.

To be clear: different users within the same account can all use the Unified CRM extension at the same time, but each of those users can only be connected to a single instance of the CRM extension at any one time.

This is inconvenient, but sadly not something we at RingCentral can fix as it is an artifact of how the Pipedrive marketplace is designed and architected.
