Hi all,
I’m based in Ireland and I’m trying to set up GoHighLevel with RingCentral for a single sub-account/location.
We originally looked at WhatsApp inside GHL, but it’s not practical for our customers because it can interfere with their existing WhatsApp Business setup (clients don’t want to disconnect or risk losing their current setup/history). So we want to use RingCentral for calling + SMS instead.
What I’ve done:
-
Installed/connected the RingCentral ↔ GoHighLevel CTI/App Connect integration (it shows as connected)
-
Upgraded to RingCentral Premium
-
Bought a Dublin number in RingCentral
What I’m trying to achieve (main goals):
-
Missed call → automatic SMS text-back (sent from the client’s RingCentral number)
-
Review request texts (after a job/call, send an SMS with a review link from the client’s number)
-
Ideally still have activity tracked in GoHighLevel (contacts/pipeline), but SMS can be sent by RingCentral
Where I’m stuck / confused:
-
After integrating, I’m not sure what the correct setup path is.
-
In GoHighLevel I’m mostly seeing WhatsApp-related options, so I’m unsure how RingCentral SMS is meant to be used for automations (missed-call and review texts).
Questions:
-
What is the recommended way to do missed call auto-SMS in RingCentral (Automator / Workflow Builder)? Any step-by-step or the exact recipe to use?
-
Does the CTI/App Connect integration support automated SMS workflows, or is it mainly for click-to-call + logging?
-
For review texts: what’s the best practice trigger in RingCentral (after call ends, tagged call, manual template, etc.)?
-
If I want GoHighLevel to still manage the CRM/pipeline while RingCentral sends the SMS, what’s the best approach (webhooks/Zapier/Make)?
