My Shokz headset is not able to answer my Ring calls. I can use the Shokz speaker and microphone when I answer on the computer with my mouse, but not able to use the headset controls to answer.

Hi @Charlene Vozar,

I know it can be a bit frustrating when your headset controls don’t work the way you expect with the RingCentral app.

The reason your Shokz headset’s buttons aren’t responding is because there’s no direct integration between Shokz and RingCentral. Some brands, like Jabra or Poly, are built with specific integrations, but most Bluetooth headsets (including Shokz) only handle the basics like speaker and microphone. That means the call control buttons (answer, end, mute) usually work with your computer’s native calling apps (like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or your system’s built-in call features), but not with RingCentral.

That said, here are a few easy workarounds to make answering calls smoother:

👉 Use the RingCentral mobile app – Your calls will ring on your phone too, and Shokz headset buttons often work better with your phone’s call functions. You can answer directly from the headset, and the call connects through the app.

👉 Try the desktop app shortcut – On your computer, you can quickly answer calls without your mouse:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + A

  • Mac: Cmd + Shift + A

👉 Click to answer – If you keep the RingCentral app open, you’ll see the incoming call pop-up. A quick click on the green “Answer” button will route the audio straight to your Shokz headset.

I realize these aren’t a perfect fix, but they should make it easier to pick up calls without the extra hassle. Hopefully one of these options fits into your workflow!

@Mary-Community_Moderator  - Shokz are becoming quite popular…  I have two pairs, and I bought them for all my techs.  I know where this is leadinf (make an Idea post) but if it can get more weight behind it on the roadmap - yeah, that’d be great.   :)

I’ve also heard the quality is amazing! 😀 Would you mind submitting a feature request for this? It would be a big help for other members who’d love to have it too.

I found the Shokz OpenMeet headset paired with the Shokz Loop 120 bluetooth dongle works with the PC app just fine for answering, terminating, and muting calls from the headset controls.

I have found that the Bluetooth connection of the Shokz does not carry over button controls. However, if you use the wireless dongle (USB A or C), the buttons work.

Just installed the Loop 120, and meh…  yeah - you can control the phone, answer with the side button, etc. but after each call - it mutes the sound.  Can’t seem to find any odd areas to toggle these settings either.

I’ll play for a bit and see.

Thanks for the suggestion - it does work ‘as advertised’  :)
