Will the new app tasking functionality be enhanced to at least include features that are being used to support business functions? The ability to filter by group & status and sort tasks is very limited in the new app. We rely on sorting by color to organize tasks.

We are having the same issue! And not being able to comment on tasks is causing a huge issue!


The new app is will have the "Section" label added this upcoming release at the end of the month. It will be called "Categories". The Tasks product manager is aware of these other improvement asks, and the functionality gaps between the old app and the unified app. He's working on getting filter by category, filter by color, and adding comments to tasks addressed. Current ETA is Q2 or Q3 of this year.


Q2 or Q3 for the missing tasks funcionality is too late. This is required functionality that we need now. And now that we have a drop dead date for RC Classic we will be looking for your replacement.


I agree with @michael-tanner1. The ability to comment on tasks to organize multiple people's conversations into the task to which they apply is integral to our operational processes. Without it, there effectively is NO task management by any stretch of the imagination. If this can't be launched soon, then PLEASE allow using Classic until the feature is added back to the new version. Please help @Jessica-Community_Moderator Our IT is looking into other platforms at this time.



We don't have a specific date yet, Shiela. We'll keep you updated once we do.


The latest April release has the ability for adding notes to the task allowing for the organization like the classic version. Initial look would seem to meet our needs. Just in time!


As many others, we are also at the mercy of Category Segmenting. This is a function we rely on for efficient productivity. If this is not available prior to the May 3rd migration to the new app, we would be forced to find a new CRM.

What is the ETA on release date for Category/Segmenting Tasks, like they are in Ring Central Classic?


Hi Everyone, RingCentral App released new features last 04/14, including creating a task from a group or individual contacts. Members of the specific task can now view and add responses. I still dont see any option in sorting tasks on the right pane of messages window. It's a mess in the new ring central app. We used to sort them by color in rc classic. Any news when this functionality will be available?
