- A brand new plugin framework opened the door for third party developers to extend App Connect in ways we hadn't even planned for.
- Voicemail drop alone has more than doubled outbound calling capacity for teams using it.
- A new administrative console has made managing App Connect across an organization dramatically simpler, no longer tethered to a browser extension for every administrative task, though we'll always recommend keeping the Chrome or Edge extension installed for your own personal logging and monitoring.
None of that happened in a vacuum. It happened because a community of developers, users, and experimenters showed up, gave us feedback, filed bug reports, and pushed us to go further. So before anything else, thank you. This release belongs to you as much as it belongs to us.
Now we're ready to take the next step. Starting on August 17 and the following four to six weeks, App Connect 2.0 beta will transition into a release candidate phase, with new release candidate builds shipping weekly as we bring the final polish needed for general availability. We have arrived at this point because we are confident in the quality of App Connect 2.0, and feel it is ready for broader testing. This is your moment, install the release candidate, test it out, and tell us what you find.
If you'd rather stay on solid ground, you don't have to do anything at all. When 2.0 launches, App Connect 1.6 will be upgraded automatically, and our leading edge version will convert to the new App Connect 2.1 beta -- starting our innovation cycle again for those who want to keep exploring.
