I recently set up RingCentral App Connect with Clio and it works as expected for matching numbers in the E.164 standard for call-pop, contact matching, and call logging functionality. Very cool!

However, it does not seem to search or find numbers in any other format, including those which have been manually defined in the “Phone number format alternatives” section, e.g. (***) ***-****

Any ideas? I am an admin and have tried to override the number format at admin (managed) and user level.  No results.  I have already reset, logged in and out, etc.

If you have other features working, it means that you have successfully connected to Clio from the extension, which is good news. 

I’ve just tried it myself and it seems to be working.

Thanks for your quick response! I did some more testing and you are going to love this:

It works… but only for Clio contacts who are marked as “People”, not “Companies”.

Some additional feature requests from my testing:

  • The ability to enter those call log notes during the call and not just at the end.
  • The ability to change (and enforce as an admin) the default Activity Title for call logs, possibly to include wildcards like User Name or User Initials.
  • The ability to link call logs to Clio Matters, not just Contacts.

Appreciate you working on this. It’s a good tool at baseline and our team will get a lot of functionality out of it.

It’s supported to some extent. You can input your notes during the call via the note button at bottom right corner. And the note will be saved and autofilled in the logging form.

Yeah very good point! Let me add it to my TODO list for Q2. 

  • The ability to link call logs to Clio Matters, not just Contacts.

This should already be supported. The call would be logged under a contact and one of its associated matters (if any).

  • My deskphone is paired to the RingCentral desktop app, so when I call out through App Connect, it initiates a call on my deskphone.  Perhaps for that reason, the “Notes” button is greyed out on App Connect during the call.  
  • The calls are not logged to associated matter(s) and there is no ability to do so. Currently the only workaround is to go ahead and log the call oto the contact], then navigate to that call log in Clio and link it to a matter there.

I was not able to reproduce the issue of not auto-linking matters. Could you send me a screen recording for the issue?
