Question

Workflow for call to announcement only extension

I have an IVR where if the caller presses one, they are saying they want me to send a text message with my consultation link. I can get it working on company workflow if the extension is a voice mail extension, but the announcement only extension doesn’t show up as an option. I don’t really want them to be able to leave a message I just want an announcement that says they will be receiving the text message. The button press message that gets them there will say that they are approving getting a test message, etc.

Hi @donnettacb98 You can create another IVR menu to replace the announcement only extension.
When user press 1 in your current IVR menu, you redirect it to a new IVR menu. Then in the new IVR menu, you can just prompt “Link sent. You can end the call now. or click 1 to other …etc”.

Thank you! I didn’t think about doing it that way. However, I think I’m going to change the prompt they get for the voice mail. I had a potential client request the link yesterday with the voicemail setting. They got the link but I also called them and they are older and said they weren’t sure what to do with the link, so I think I’ll program the message to say “Your text has been sent and will be received soon. If you need help scheduling your consultation, leave a voice mail and I’ll call you back, otherwise, you may hang up now.” Something along those lines.
