RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

I move from Ooma to RingCentral becuse I was told it was better, but one thing I can’t find is Notification when you have a voicemail or a missed call, it did always show with the Ooma app.

When I get a call from a call queue if I click "Ignore Call" on my desktop app the Incoming Call screen goes away and then pops right back up a few seconds later. Same thing on the phone app. Using an Android phone if I decline a call, it goes away for a second then just comes right back up. This is extremely annoying. Please look into fixing it. If I ignore a call, I want it ignored. I don't care if it's in a queue and nobody else is answering. If I'm busy, I'm busy.

We are having a couple issues with automatic call recording.When our people call out and they call a number that has a virtual assistant, our call recording message plays over the virtual assistant options. Should this be happening? We have customers that hang up as soon as the call recording message starts playing when we call because they think they are talking to a robot or spam. Has anyone found anything that helps with this? We tried putting our company name in the first part of it so they would know it was us, but that isn’t working as well as we hoped, and now the message is super long.

I am a RingCentral partner and have several clients that are reporting that random phones will report no service and then reconnect. There is no rhyme or reason behind this. We have unassigned the desk phones and reassigned them and that has fixed the issue for some but not all.  As this is happening to several of my clients thar are in different areas and different internet providers and that it is random phones and not all phones we can not find what is causing this issue. All network requirements are met. 

We use Ring Central Polycom VVX 450s across our organization. I have 2 phones that are occasionally de-registering themselves and stating “No Service” then moments later will come back up. I don’t think it has anything to do with PoE as the phones will stay on during this time. The firewall is allowing for connections out to the IP/Port. Would having inbound connections limited affect this? The phones are on two different switches. Again this is only happening to 2 phones that I’m aware of, out of the 90+ in our environment. Any help would be appreciated. Hello,My Yealink T33G phones keep resetting nightly. I’ve emailed Yealink at the direction of RingCentral Technical Support and this is what they directed but I cannot figure out within the phone IP log in how to update these settings. Any help is appreciated!

In the last week I had a couple of voicemail messages that did not make sense.  They appeared in some way malicious but I can’t figure out the angle. One sounded completely silent but had a somewhat natural but nonsensical text and another one was completely garbled and incomprehensible to me but again the automated transcription came pretty clear.  It feels like hidden nonsense messages within audio but I can’t figure out what could be the use.  

Hello everyone, I noticed that since yesterday, incoming calls are received either in the smartphone application or in the desktop application. Moreover, if the call comes from a queue (where several operators receive calls), it always comes to the desktop, and if you close it, the call will come to the app on your smartphone. I think calls used to come simultaneously before.

Hello,We’re using RingCentral entirely on App (computers Mac/Windows and Mobile App iOS/Android), with no physical desk phones.I’d like to allow multiple users to share two outbound phone lines, so we don’t have to pay for a separate direct line for every user.Is there a way to configure this in RingCentral ?Here’s our setup and what we’re trying to achieve: No desk phones, only the RingCentral app; Limit the number of simultaneous outbound calls (e.g. 2 max); Allow all users to share the same main company number for outbound caller ID.  We are a team of 10 people, including two members in customer relations. My ideal would be to have two outbound call lines.One reserved for my group: Customer Relations (2 members) The second is available to everyone: 10 members (including my two customer relations members).This avenue allows everyone to call while optimizing my monthly cost because it is rare that 2 outgoing calls are made at the same time.  Thank you for your help and any guidanc

I can’t get my existing T46U phone to configure with RingCentral. Even after a factory reset

Hello,I have a user(s) that I will add to an existing campaign for SMS access and the process will go all the way to “Setup in Progress” and then will disappear from the campaign without an error message or completion. Once I go back to check the user is not in the list, nor can they send a text message. 

We recently migrated to RingEx from the cloud phone platform formerly known as Shoretel Sky and we have made the unwelcome discovery that the firmware that RingCentral upgrades us to shows us random pictures of architecture. For us, this is a big problem because we are architects and the work isn’t ours. It’s a bit like if you went into Nintendo’s offices and the phones were cycling between pictures of Crash Bandicoot, Sonic and Master Chief.I’ve looked in the firmware and tried to find discussions online for how to change what is displayed in the screensaver and I haven’t yet turned up anything useful. I also emailed our rep, but he’s just emailed other people. There has to be a way, so any help finding that way would be appreciated.

I am a Virtual Assistant and have clients that forward me their phones to answer. I was told before I signed up with RC that I would be able to have the caller ID show the actual clients name, NOT the name and number of the person calling my clients. I’ve been searching for a way and finally had a chat with Ryan. He informed me they cant do that in the system. This is literally the only reason I went with RC. Now I have to answer the phone calls with just my name, not the actual company because i have no clue what business line it is. HOW does this even happen?!? Sales guy just saying yes to get the sale? I’m so beyond mad right now… 

Hi there, I’m trying to find an average number of fax pages that are sent in the past 30 days from my company. I can see how many faxes are sent or received, but I need to know if Ringcentral can tell me how many total number of pages were sent in those faxes. Is there a way to audit this from the admin portal?

Has anyone had any success registering their numbers on the Free Caller Registry to fix caller ID discrepancies? Some carriers still won’t show our caller ID or will show someone else’s name (who is not related to us at all) for the caller ID so we need to get the Caller ID fixed but I am a little concerned that the Free Caller Registry is going to open us up to getting a lot of spam calls. Or does anyone have any other suggestions to fix Caller ID?

We have 40+ Yealink W70B basestations in use across the business and are finding they all need to be restarted every 6-8 weeks to fix issues with one way audio, static, crackling etc.  The web UI for the basestations doesn’t have a feature to schedule a reboot and RingCentral doesn’t have the ability to remotely trigger it either. Our staff are stubbornly refusing to learn to reboot them before raising tickets about it.  I’ve never encountered this with any other phone system. Is RingCentral aware of the issue, otherwise what can be done to address this?

I would like to be able to automatically send all unknown callers to voicemail. Is it possible to accomplish this with a rule? Yes I am aware that I can block callers, and I also have call screening enabled, but that does not stop nuisance callers from distracting me all day long.Thanks!

How to set up my Cisco 191 telephone adapter with RingCentral

iOS app v 20.1.22.0.60385 app not ringing for incoming call; for the person calling it just rings and rings then goes to voicemail. The problem is I an missing calls. I have to watch the call log or wait to I am notified about a message. I have an extension and a direct line and it has happened on both. This just started happening this week and 2 others at my office have experienced it also.Any idea as to the cause and if it can be corrected? With us working from home we have to have this working. Please help!!!!
