Hi, does anyone know if missed calls to the RingCentral Embedded dialler in MS Teams should show up as a missed call on the MS Teams icon on the start menu or do you have to click to the Ringcentral app in Teams to see missed calls?

there is something about notifications here

RingCentral for Microsoft Teams - Embedded App | RingCentral Support

  • Notifications for missed calls, fax, text, and daily unread items

but for us its not working

Thanks!

Hi paul-7,

You can see your missed call notifications within the call history or the badge displayed on the ‘Calls’ / ‘Phone’ tab within the RingCentral Embedded app. You have to click and open the app to do so.

Another way of getting notified is through a chat message sent by RingCentral chat which you can find in your ‘Chats’ tab within Microsoft Teams or the ‘Activity’ tab within the RingCentral Embedded App.

The badge count displayed on the RingCentral app icon (R icon) is not the exact representation of all the unread notifications and the reason is because that section is controlled by Microsoft and it does not provide any API’s for us to send and display the exact unread notifications on the icon.

If the notifications feature is not working for you, then it could be due to the UPN in Microsoft not matching with your RingCentral email address as mentioned in our FAQ’s

Another likely reason is that the Microsoft “Chats” permission is disabled entirely for your organization. If this is the case, you have to contact your Microsoft admin to enable it.
