Chrome Extension Not Loading

Multiple users cant get the Google chrome extension to load up. 

I’ve Tried:

removing and readding extension

clearing chrome cookies and data

uninstall main ringcentral app and re install then readd extension

updating settings, restarting computer, readd extension

 

Is this a known issue or something i maybe missing on my end?

Experiencing the same issue. Users appear to be on version 25.4.20 that was just updated January 11th. No word from support as of yet

Update: Started seeing this when updating the Google Chrome version to: 144.0.7559.60. Seems to be working on previous 143 version

Experiencing the same issue and I need to make calls on my computer / Chrome browser. It seems the desktop app is not working either. Tried all the troubleshooting steps the original poster tried too before finding this thread

I’m experiencing similar issues. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Ring Central Chrome extension, cleared my cache and browsing data, quit and reopened Chrome, and restarted my computer. 

Is there a fix being worked on?

Yes same issues. This is how my company uses ring central so we are pretty much uncontactable by phone right now. Please get this fixed asap or will will be forced to find an alternate solution

Same here.  So far the only fix is to use it in Edge.

Any updates on a fix for this? Is it more so a chrome issue or a RingCentral issue? The desktop app seems to be working just fine, but it’s not as efficient as dialing directly from the web in the extension. It will surely slow down our production.

Alright, sorry for the delay - had to connect with several folks to make sure I was getting accurate info!

A recent update in the Chrome browser (Version 144 and later) introduced a breaking change in how extensions handle messaging. This has caused a failure in communication between the extension's internal components, resulting in a loss of functionality for users on specific browser versions, including the loading of the RingCentral Chrome extension and the making or receiving of phone calls.

  • Impacted Browser Versions:
    • Mac: Chrome Version 144.0.7559.60; Edge Canary 145.0.3799.0.
    • Windows: Chrome Version 143.0.7499.193; Chrome Canary Version 146.0.7634.0.
  • Current Status: A fix was developed on January 14, 2026, and submitted to the Chrome Web Store. We are currently awaiting approval from Google for the official rollout. The fix will be auto-applied on the next load or refresh of the Chrome extension with no further action by the user. 
  • Interim Workarounds:
