How can we have a call automatically transfer to a number after the call is ended?

How can we have a call automatically transfer to a number after the call is ended? We are trying to have an IVR survey run after the call. What API software would support this?

Accessing Department/Call Queue voicemail.

In our previous phone system, users had the ability to access Department / Call Queue voicemail from their companion desktop app. They also had the ability to callback the caller that left the "group" voicemail. I am trying to provide them a solution that gives them similar functionality. So far I have given them access to the web portal with the login for that Call Queue, but they do not have the ability to click a number and ring out to their phone because they are not logged in themselves. Is there a way to download a voicemail from a mailbox using the API? Is there a way to play a voicemail over a users phone by initiating it from the API? aka I want to play a wav file over the users phone. Thanks

Caller ID and CNAM

You can find the KB on this information here . Caller ID, as it is most commonly thought of, actually consists of two different services working together to display both the phone number and name of the caller for phone calls. What is the difference between Caller ID and CNAM? Caller ID (aka CLID) is the actual phone number calling in, whereas the accompanying text that provides the identifying name for that number is referred to as CNAM (aka Caller Name). How do CLID and CNAM work together? When a phone call is made, the CLID is routed to the destinations carrier for delivery. The CNAM text data is not sent out by the originating carrier, as they are separate services. When the call arrives, the carrier for this destination end of the call will reference that number against its own local CNAM database. 400 Bad Request when using authorization code flow and exchanging code for token

Hello! I'm working on a site that's currently trying to integrate with RingCentral's API. We have multiple customers that will be using the API, so we're going with the Authorization Code Flow. We're able to redirect the user over to RingCentral and have them authorize their account, but when trying to exchange the received code, we receive a 400 error. The site is an MVC5 app and I haven't been able to find any examples of the authorization code flow for this type of application, but maybe I haven't looked far enough. How do we identify which Extension picked up the Call through our API ?

One of our Developer has a question on : Every inbound call has many legs for the different extensions, which is normal. problem is that there's no way for me to know who actually spoke to the customer! Problem Typically with a Call-Centre type application, where we have many extensions/users associated with the Main Company Number. How is it possible to identify which Extension/User answered the call. Scenario Let's say a Customer calling in the Main Company Number is redirected to a particular extension using the IVR . The Service Web would display the Call-Legs associated with the call in the "Detailed" view section of the Call-Logs but how do i see them via API response. Goal To match the Account level Call-Log records to specific extension/user call-log entries to identify the user who picked up the call Solution In-order to identify the extension who picked up the call you would need to retrieve the Account Call-Logs : API Endpoint : /v1.0/account/{accountId}/call-log Parameters

Error after application is idle for a long time

How to add a number for testing app

Simplest of issues: I have one main number & need to add at least one more (preferrably 3-4 more) to test issues like whether my application can properly send SMS messages and place calls based upon the logged-in user's individual number. I cannot find an area code with an available number. I'm in eastern Massachusetts but for testing purposes it's immaterial where the local number appears to be - Phoenix would be fine.

Presence event filter: Not allowed subscribe for presence to extensions of Department type

What type of extensions are supported when subscribing call notifications? We have started getting 'Not allowed subscribe for presence to extensions of Department type' errors when subscribing for 'Department' extensions, although it worked fine until last Friday (30th April). Has there been any changes in RC API? Regards Darius

Active Call API Call (PHP) returns Internal Server Error

Until today we have been using active calls via the API via cron job. However this has stopped working and are receiving: Unable to login to Ring Central Internal Server Error. Consult RC Support. When calling that particular API Call. We can Authenticate fine (receiving Access Tokens etc) and we can call 'call-log' successfully. We have tried this using the Ring Centrral API Explorer and it seems it is only the active-call api that is failing with this 500 Error. Any help would be much appreciated.

Problem with RingCentral sending faxes to Esker fax server

Our center sends fax reports to physician offices through Ring Central. physicians who are connected to an Esker fax server are not getting our reports.Following is an email which I recved from the IT dept at SIH: It appears we have a lot of problems with the faxes coming in from Ring Central, more than just Dr. McElheny. As you stated, Ring Central is a cloud-based phone system and it sounds like an issue with FoIP. We suspect if they were using a physical fax board or fax machine, there would not be an issue. If they have a fax machine in their office, they should test with that. They will need to contact Ring Central. The bulk of issues we see regarding fax are with virtual fax boards, followed closely by line noise. If youre still concerned that this is an issue on the receiving end of the faxes, well need to run WireShark traces, well need the Brooktrout config files and well need to open a ticket with Dialogic. . Why does OAuth return "unauthorized for this grant type" error?

Are you receiving the following error when you call the /oauth/token API to authorize your application? { "error": "unauthorized_client" "error_description": "Unauthorized for this grant type" } To fix this problem, check the following: Is your "application type" ==> "Web/UI based" or "browser-based application?" If the answer is yes you will need to follow the 3 legged OAuth flow to authorize your application. Customer Portal: Dependence on Non-Free JavaScript

I'm happy with the RC phone service itself. However, in a support survey I mentioned that I do not like the Customer Web site interface because I am a free software advocate, and the portal will not work without RC's non-free JavaScript. Please read the following: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/javascript-trap.en.html In response, RC told me to create a support ticket, so I did (#04573661). Then later they told me to post to the forums, so here I am. If RC wants to meet my requirement, they would either need to attach free software licenses to the JavaScript used on their portal, or create a fallback HTML-only Web interface for customers who did not want to use JavaScript.

Is there a difference between the Call-Recording Duration and Actual Call Duration?

Why is there a difference between the Call-recording duration and actual Call Duration reported in the call log? or Why don't I see a recording for a call even when I see call duration in call log record? (Automatic recording is enabled) Well here is the explanation: The total call duration reported in the call log entry includes the time for call-setup, playing the call prompt, playing the auto receptionist message, playing the call-recording prompt and/or the actual talk time (i.e when 2 parties could hear each other). The call recording is generated ONLY for the duration of actual talk time. Example: Senario 1: Call log record shows 50 secs, but the recording is for 10 secs The initial 40 seconds is call setup time and so the call recording duration will be 10 seconds for the actual talk time after the recording prompt was played. Senario 2: Call log record shows 75 secs, but there is no recording The call was setup, but was terminated by one of the parties while the recording promp

Auth Limit is limiting per account and not per user.

I've been noticing with my app that I've been getting quite a few "Request Rate Exceeded" errors while trying to authenticate. In looking into this, I see that the limit is set to 5 Auth Requests per 60 seconds and then it goes on to say "The above rate limits for your application are set per user (RingCentral extension)." This limitation is perfectly fine with me if that's how it works...but it doesn't. We have a RingCentral account with 20 users in it. Each user has their own extension and direct number. The app attempts to authenticate as each user to get status updates on faxes. It appears that when the app gets to the 6th user it fails as we've already reached the limit by authenticating with the first 5 users in this account. I really need this fixed so that each user has the ability to authenticate without affecting the limits of other users. I've already e-mailed the developer support team but no one ever seems to respond when I send e-mails there.

Setting subscriptions aggregated query parameter to true using the c#.net SDK

In the API Docs, it states if you want the subscription to return certain parameters, lets say, dndStatus on a Presence event, the aggregated query parameter on the subscription request need to be set to true. I am unable to see where you can set this parameter to true using the c# .NET SDK. Is this not a option using the SDK?

Error code "CMN-201" for the Subscription endpoint

It looks like PubNub-driven application is no longer working, as the subscription endpoint "https://platform.ringcentral.com/restapi/v1.0/subscription"; is throwing the 503 error with error code "CMN-201". Is this particular endpoint going under maintenance (as the GET request indicates: "service is overloaded, please retry later"), or is it perhaps my mistake? Let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks!

Caller ID: We need our outbound calling city/state to be where we are located or better yet, left blank

U.S. Account (Commercial Real Estate Business): We would like to have a feature added that would enable us the latitude to modify the phone display/caller ID to read whatever city/state or company name we would like it to read - whatever we want to input. Currently our caller ID is showing our phone number associated with a city/state in which we are not even located.
