HubSpot

  • Joe: How do I integrate RingCentral into HubSpot using a search engine other than Chrome, such as Mozilla?
    • We will be releasing a HubSpot Native Integration by the End of April that will utilize HubSpot’s SDKs. This will allow integration into any HubSpot supported browser. There will be a webinar for the newly refreshed app in May.
  • Mason: I use HubSpot and I specifically want to have my text messages logged into my CRM. What app or extension should I use?
    • They should use the HubSpot for RingCentral app that is available today in the HubSpot Marketplace. It has many parallel and similar features as App Connect
  • Joe : If I have installed the RingCentral App into our HubSpot, do I need to do anything with AppCentral?
    • No, App Connect and RingCentral for HubSpot are two separate, but very similar applications. Users do not need both.
  • Joe: Are there additional fees for the HubSpot integration?
    • Users must be on an advanced or ultra tier for RingCentral.

Salesforce

  • David: Are there plans to improve the Salesforce integration?
    • There will be multiple feature releases in the future such as enhanced call logging, more advanced admin controls, and offline logging.
  • Valentina: For all of this to happen, would we need to make the call directly from Salesforce? Or if we make the call from the RC App, will it still be logged on my CRM automatically?
    • For the most direct and accurate log with manual dispositions we recommend logging the call from the Salesforce CTI. Activity Sync is a feature coming to Salesforce soon that will allow logging from any RingCentral device including the RingCentral App and mobile phone. To be on the beta please reach out back to us.

Dynamics

  • Kelly: We’ve already integrated RingCentral into our Dynamics 365 CRM. However, we’ve been running into issues with access across different Dynamics apps. Is AppConnect meant to support this or is it separate?
    • RingCentral for Dynamics currently only supports CIF 1.0 for the primary Microsoft Dynamics Application. Support for other Microsoft applications is limited.

Does App Connect support ________?

  • Acculynx
    • Bani: Is Acculynx one of the CRMs?
  • Active Campaign
    • Christine: We're using Active Campaign and Archie. Is there a way to schedule a one-on-one call to determine how RingCentral can help with workflow?
  • Aptean
    • Christine: Is there an integration for Aptean CRM (formerly OnContact)?
  • FreeAgent
    • Matthew: Is FreeAgent CRM supported?
  • Follow Up Boss
    • Mike: Do you have any plans to integrate with industry-specific CRM systems? We are in the real estate industry and use one of the more popular CRM systems in real estate – FollowupBoss.
  • Hawksoft
    • Matt: Is there an integration with Hawksoft? If so, will it be covered in the general discussion or does it need separate training?
    • Krystal: Will we discuss integrating RingCentral with Hawksoft?
  • HighLevel
    • Alex: How do you connect RingCentral EX to GoHighLevel?
  • Keap
    • Anonymous: Will this work with the CRM Keap?
  • LACRM
    • Nick: Does it integrate with LACRM?
  • Monday.com
    • Francisco: Does it integrate with Monday.com via AppConnect?
  • ServiceNow
    • Stephen: Is RingCentral EX integration with ServiceNow on a roadmap?
  • Smart Advocate
    • Amrit: Is there a way to integrate RingCentral with a legal software like Smart Advocate? This is really crucial for us.

Also…

  • Kayla: Who should we reach out to for CRM recommendations not listed here?
  • David: Is there any integration with other third-party CRMs?
  • Shanique: It would be helpful to have some integration CRM options related to nonprofits as well. Do you foresee that coming?

Answer: For the lists of supported CRMs, visit the App Connect Documentation.
We had a number of people ask about CRMs that are NOT currently supported by App Connect. They are:

  • Acculynx
  • Active Campaign
  • Aptean
  • FreeAgent
  • Follow Up Boss
  • Hawksoft
  • Keap
  • LACRM
  • Monday.com
  • Smart Advocate

People also asked about HighLevel and ServiceNow. We have a ServiceNow adapter today, provided by Gate6, and another partner is working on HighLevel - which we are excited to release when they are done.

Proprietary CRMs

  • Leslie: My company has created a custom CRM that I believe was created using Azure. Is this something that will integrate with my CRM?
  • Dan: How to integrate AppConnect with custom-coded CRM?
  • Eric : So is AppConnect a bridge that can be integrated with a custom CRM?

Answer: Yes. RingCentral’s App Connect can integrate with proprietary CRMs, including custom-built and home-grown systems. Whether your CRM is commercial or completely bespoke, App Connect provides the tools and flexibility needed to create a seamless integration.

App Connect being a paid product

  • Sarah: When referring to the Call Logging being a separate license in the future, is that referring to all features of call logging or just the transcript and AI logging? Will you require this to save notes on a call and transfer to CRM?
  • Chris: Do you foresee that license to log back to the CRM being a per-user license or per-tenant?

A: The short answer is — we're exploring it. But I’d like to provide some clarity on what that might look like and, more importantly, why we’re considering it. To know more, view here: Is App Connect becoming a paid product? Here’s what that means.

Browser support

  • Anonymous: Would like to see AppConnect work with browsers other than just Google Chrome. For Mac users, Safari would be preferred.
  • James: I see the app is available for Google and Edge; will it be available for Firefox at any point?

A: We are always looking for ways to expand App Connect’s audience, and expanding to other browsers is one way to do that. However, Safari and Firefox have very different platforms and feature sets, making supporting them a little more difficult. Therefore, we don’t have plans in the immediate future to support these browsers, but that could always change.

General questions

  • Gina: I am confused—is AppConnect a separate tool that allows integration with other CRMs?
    • App Connect is both a product you can install and use to connect to a supported CRM, and a framework for adding more CRMs to the list of CRMs it currently supports. To users it helps log calls and communications in a connected system, and to developers it provides a relatively quick way to connect RingCentral to virtually any CRM.
  • Jerry: Are any SMS messages sent retained for archival and communication retention records?
    • Yes. That is a core function of App Connect. However, I would offer certain caveats as it relates to using this tool to meet compliance requirements. To know more visit this link.
  • Leslie: How do we get started?
  • Joe: Does AppConnect work with Enterprise RingCentral with multiple companies?
    • Yes, it should. App Connect is in fact agnostic of sites in general. Each site could choose to log communications to different CRMs if they wish as well.
  • Philip: When referring to call logging—will this include transferring notes to the CRM, or only transcript and AI features?
    • Users are free to select what data they want logged to their CRM. Users can choose between the following:
      • Subject - this acts as a one-line summary of the call, usually in the form of "Inbound call from name"
      • Notes - this refers to the human-entered notes for the call
      • Contact phone number - the phone number that was called or called you
      • Date/time - the start and end date/time of the call
      • Duration - the duration of the call
      • Call result - what did RingCentral observe as the result of the call, e.g. "call connected," "voicemail," "missed," etc.
      • Recording - if there is a recording for the call, a link to the recording will be embedded
      • AI notes/summary - AI-generated summary of the call (requires RingSense subscription)
      • Transcript - A transcript of the call (requires RingSense subscription)
  • Humberto: Is it possible to share SMS features with the rest of my team using the same phone number?
    • That is not really a problem App Connect was designed to solve. But we do have a product that could help: Enhanced Business SMS, powered by BeeTexting.
  • Greg: We create CRMs in a multi-purpose sales/inventory/accounting program (Stone Profit Systems). Can RC AppConnect only integrate with CRM services?
    • This is a question numerous developers have approached us with.

App Connect’s name was chosen deliberately, because while its core use case has a strong correlation to CRMs, it isn't limited strictly to CRM systems. It was named to reflect its versatility. Technically, App Connect can integrate with any system, whether it's a traditional CRM or a custom-built platform.

That said, for App Connect to function as intended, the system you're integrating it with should support two key concepts:

      • A contact database with phone numbers – This allows App Connect to associate phone calls and messages with a person or entity in your system.

      • Support for logging notes or communications – This is where App Connect really shines. Its core purpose is to log communications like calls, voicemails, and texts into your platform.
