We’ve seen a lot of questions lately about how to make international calls in RingCentral, so we’re here to help! In this quick “Getting Started” guide, we’ll walk you through what international calling is, how to enable it, and where to find extra resources to make the process simple.
Â
What is international calling?
International calling and SMS let you connect with people outside your country through your RingCentral account, whether you’re using a desk phone, the RingCentral app, or the Call Me feature.
Keep in mind that outbound calls may come with long-distance charges, depending on the country you’re calling.
Admins can turn off these features to prevent users from making outbound calls and sending SMS messages to international numbers, avoiding long-distance charges
Â
How to enable international calling in your account
When you turn on the international calling and SMS features, users that have international calling enabled in their role will be able to make calls or send text messages to international numbers.
- Sign in to the Admin Portal.
- In the top menu, click the Account tab dropdown., then click Inventory & Usage.
- In the left panel, click the Calling Rates dropdown, then Outbound Rates.
- Click the toggle on switch next to the International Calling, International SMS or both.
- Click Yes in the confirmation box.
