Off Hours Mode is on during Work Hours

Hello!

The phones in one of the restaurants say “Off Hours Mode” in the top left even during work hours. For a while they were sending everyone to voicemail when they shouldn’t. Our other tech support for the company was able to fix this, but the phones still say “Off Hours Mode”. I checked in the admin portal for the After Hours schedule to see if that was wrong, but it’s not. Phone calls are coming through, but how do I change the phones from “Off Hours Mode”?

Hi @AustinAtJAKs,

It sounds like the setting controlling your desk phone's display is likely on the phone itself, not within the RingCentral Admin Portal's call handling rules. Assuming you're using a Poly desk phone, please check the 'Power Saving Mode' or 'Office Hours' setting directly on the device's local menu.

Here's what you might need to check on the phones themselves:

  1. Desk Phone's Local Settings:

    • Access the phone's Menu/Settings: Look for buttons like "Menu," "Settings," or a home icon on the phone's display.
    • Navigate to Power Saving/Office Hours: Within the settings, you'll want to find sections related to "Basic," "Preferences," "Power Saving," or "Office Hours."
    • Adjust Office Hours or Disable Power Save Display: You might find an option to set the phone's local "Office Hours" or to disable the "Off Hours Mode" display. Even if calls are routing correctly via RingCentral's system, the phone itself might have its own internal schedule for when it considers itself "on" or "off" for power saving or display purposes.

Let me know if checking the phone's local settings helps!

A year later and this helped me! We were wondering why calls weren’t going thru to the wifi phones and a quick google search later, this advice fixed it. Start hours were 7 and duration was set to 0 on a Saturday…. crazy that this is default!

Those default settings can certainly catch you off guard, but we're so glad a quick search brought you here and got your Wi-Fi phones ringing again.

Thanks for dropping by to share the win. 😊
