RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

When an employee leaves the company, we often need to forward their calls to another manager for at least a month. How do we do this, while still deactivating the terminated employees' access to RC? I changed their passwords, but it won't log them out automatically from their mobile RC app, so they technically can still message, etc.

A few weeks ago, for a very short amount of time, I was able to select the option to listen to the call recording directly from Contact Details window that pops up, using the ACD Recording tab. There were two options, one to use a phone line to listen to the call where I put in my cell number which is OK. Then the other option I could just click play for the recording and it was really nice to be able to do that. I noticed a few days ago this is no longer the case and I am back to using my cell phone to listen to calls. Otherwise I have to download the call which is not always needed.

We have rolled out the RingCentral classic app organization-wide and are using it in conjunction with Polycom desk phones. Many of our users have Call Handling settings under Desktop/Mobile App set to "0 Rings/0 Secs" in order to allow the app and their desk phone to ring simultaneously. I got a report from a user today who is a member of a call queue, working remotely (away from their deskphone). They needed to change Desktop & Mobile on their extension to 4 or 5 rings in order to allow queue calls to ring their Classic app long enough to answer. The 0 Rings setting rang once but not long enough to pick up. The queue itself is set to move to the next available agent after 5 Rings/25 seconds.Is this the expected behavior in RC Classic when queue calls come in?

In my call handling & forwarding settings I have my desktop & mobile apps set to ring 3 times and then I have the calls being forwarded to a team member. However, when I receive a call it just rings until I manually forward it. What is the trick to making the rules I set in calling handling & forwarding work?

I have two extensions that are fine when dialing their extensions but when you dial all 10 digits of the number it appears a fax picks up the call. Is there a setting on these numbers that need adjustment?We are new to RC and I am still learning.

A client of mine just a few days ago signed up for a ring central fax account. he is now no longer able to log into his account, it says his password is incorrect. he has done several password resets, and they are not arriving in his inbox. He has checked spam and junk folders, the emails are not arriving.He tried to call tech support, but apparently there is no way to speak with a human, all support calls tell him to use the self-help web page which is useless.How can my client resolve this so he can log into his account?

I tend to listen to my voicemails by email or on my Ring Central desktop app, but never on my actual phone. I noticed the other day that I have a lot of stored messages on my voicemail, so I wanted to know if there was a faster way to delete my voicemails from my phone rather than going through them one by one.

Why is this being retired? The Ring Central app is way to busy. We need a simple phone app without meetings and all the other nonsense.

Can you use the app to dial with and it use the desktop phone? Example: I type in the number on the desktop app and it will start dialing out using the desktop phone in speakermode?

Our Cornell users have been getting firewall popups that they consider frightening (see attached). This user reported this occurred after they had FIOS newly installed in their home last weekend. We are wondering if installation packages could include firewall settings appropriate for all network types users may encounter. At Cornell we centrally deploy the MSI version and our Desktop Support Team uses that to deploy and update versions on a campus-wide basis. They have noted that the package itself does not create the needed Defender firewall rules. They would prefer RingCentral provide these rules in their packaging rather than our IT creating work-arounds. Our receptionist can only have 2 presence keys for her extension on the phone. She needs to be able to have more than 2 incoming calls at a time. Requesting to be able more presence keys for the user's own extension.

Some of our Glip team users are having trouble reading messages & chats in Glip because of the small font size and light font colors, and this is creating real challenges for these users and our team as a result.So far we have not been able to figure out how to change the font sizes, colors or weights either from within the app or from within the device settings.We have run into this issue both in the mobile app for iOS and from the browser.Any help you can provide would be great!Thank you.

1. Account Type - US2. Related Case number - 100082263. Our client calls a local line we set up for them in ring central. That local line is to call a cell phone. We do this using the call handling forward to another phone feature. The call is not forwarded to the mobile device. The voicemail is left on the local number we set up for the client. When we load up the computer application the call rings through to the computer. We don't want this call to go to the computer, we want it to ring the forwarded mobile phone.4. Steps were taken - we called RingCentral - said try downloading the old phone app, but we can't open the old app, it says to upgrade5. Android for Mobile, windows for desktop6. We are only a 2 person shop and we need to both be able to answer the phone so we are connected to a Group call queue but we are not able to both get the voice mails and texts for that Group call queue. If that would be possible some day to allow multiple extensions to receive voice mails and text messages that would help out a lot.

When we receive a call in our Android App it shows the color circle with the initials and the phone number below it. Is there a way to show the full name instead of the phone number? I don't care what their number is, I need to see their name.

We are currently using RingCentral voip service using the w52p physical phones, and have the single line plan with four phones. We noticed that when to calls are being answered, the third incoming call goes to voicemail. I called ringcentral, and they representative stated that there can be only two simultaneous calls per digital line. I am writing to see if anybody else can confirm this before I pay for a second digital line. According to the rep this would give us the capacity for four simultaneous incoming calls.We used to yelling w-52p phone system, this is advertised by the manufacturer to support for simultaneous calls. However according to the RingCentral representative, each digital line on ringCentral only supports two simultaneous incoming calls.Is the response from the representative realistic and appropriate? does anyone know how to turn off emails for every text message received? I tried under preferences but I'm still getting emails.

Hello,Using Polycom VVX 450 phones with 12 buttons. On the admin website you can program presence buttons for users but even though it gives the option to choose which specific button to choose on the end users phone it always adds them to the next available empty button. Doesn't matter if you choose leave empty space or collapse list. On the web portal is shows the correct layout but on the actual phone it doesn't match. Am I missing something on how to get it to save to the button you choose on the web portal?ThanksJoe

My direct phone number and direct fax number are the same. Is there a setting to make incoming faxes go to someone else when I'm on vacation?

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to make calls through my computer using the app. I can dial the number on the RC Phone app, but it just acts as a dialler for my cellphone, with the call itself going through my cell.Basically, I want to be able to move from a Zoom meeting on my laptop, to a phonecall on RingCentral without having to switch my headset over from my computer to my phone. Anyone have any ideas as to what settings need changing?

Hi,We recently changed the way our RC works so we can see incoming calls in the HUD. However now when external calls come to the hunt group it rings my softphone and mobile app. I only want calls to my extension / direct line to call my mobile app, don't want my mobile ringing 300 times a day or to get calls out of hours. It is handy to have transferred or internal calls to my mobile though. I have now had to delete my mobile app, which I used to use quite a lot.

I have new Creative Chatmax HS-720 headset whose microphone the Windows 10 system on my Dell laptop shows is working (via testing it on settings). However the same microphone does not work on RC. I've tried just about every troubleshoot, but to no avail. Any ideas?

I have several phone at my work place that accept the ringcentral phone calls. I use the desktop app to see my faxes and voice messages. I do not want the phone to ring to my computer, but if I mute it in the settings, it turns off the volume for the whole computer. How do I disable the ringing on my computer app?
