RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

I have spent multiple hours with IT trying to figure out why calls forwarded from one extension to another were not ringing the other extensions. Finally figured out that it's because those extensions were showing offline, and evidently the only way to show those extensions as "online" is to log in to the "Phone" app (the icon with a phone) on a desktop/laptop. If you try to login to the phone app with a mobile phone it makes you use the RingCentral app (the icon with an R) and it will not show the extension as being "online" if logged in with the RingCentral app. Only if logged in to the phone app. So in essence, there is no way to accept a call to a mobile phone through the RC app that is forwarded from another extension. Hi all, I have a customer who is using the new RC app. They would like to use the Auto record for all users, but they have some staff who take phone payments, thus they need to be able to pause call recording for GDPR, however with the new APP this does not seem to be available, when you try to hit record whilst on a call, the app just comes up with an error??Since this, the customer has gone to use on-demand call recording and this is working fine within the new app, so its just the Automatic Recording Pause feature that isn't?Anyone with any ideas?

Seeking a solution to be able to have RING meetings on office tv screens in the waiting rooms where no PC is available....would a firestick or apple tv work or perhaps an app for smart tv?

When I transfer a call from the office to a mobile phone, is there a way to have the caller's number appear instead of the office number?

My users recently reported (and I confirmed with my own testing) that RC Phone and RingCentral are now allowing calls through during an active RingCentral Meeting session. This previously wasn't the case, and I have been told by RingCentral support that this is an intended "enhancement". Has anyone found a workaround, besides setting yourself to DND?For the RingCentral staff: if this is truly an intended enhancement, I recommend reversing that decision. Being in a RingCentral Meeting (at least in a business setting) generally means you don't want to be disturbed unless it's important. And for situations that are so important that it can't wait for the meeting to be over, there are usually other methods of reaching someone, such as a cell phone.

Description: We have a VVX 411 that we purchased from RC. We use a VVX D60 cordless phone as a slave to the desk phone. This cordless used to work and then quit. I ordered a new phone and the same problem persisted. I switched phone carriers and the cordless paired with the VVX 411 with no problem. Since we switched back to RC the base unit for the D60 will not pair again. It seems obvious now that the unit works but there is a glitch in the RC encoding that will not allow it to pair. This is 100% a RC problem on the development side.

My boss is wanting to know if there is a way to stop people from texting our Ring Central phone number? It's not that I can't receive the messages and forward them to her through email, she just doesn't want people sending text messages to the office number.If there's not a way to stop people from texting, is there a way to send an auto-reply to texters saying "Message undeliverable" or something?

We have Multi-Site enabled for our several branch locations and most have a local IT admin. For security reasons they are not SuperAdmins. However, we still give them certain permissions to update user extension settings and groups. We have done this by giving them the User Management role permissions and limiting the site to only their site. However, these permissions do not seems to apply to paging groups. If I remove the site restriction, they can see all sites and then they can add or remove extensions as needed to the paging group. But when restricted again to only their site, they get an error: "Mailbox has no permission to this action."After working with RC support for several weeks, they suggested I submit a feature request for this.

I have a need to copy a fairly long text string (over multiple days). I know I can copy each individual text, but that's very time consuming. I can also do a screen shot, but again, that's almost as time-consuming. Is there a better alternative? I use the desktop version of RC...NOT the new "app". Also, running Windows 10.Thanks.

Please consider providing a way to set a red "Busy" Status manually without blocking message sounds the way "Do Not Disturb" Status does in Ring Central (Classic).Preferably a customizable Status where you could type in the reason for "Busy" (i.e. - Away, Training, etc ...).

Hi. I have occasional problems where I get an application memory usage alert on my mac when running Ringcentral. It shows that it is using 60GB of application memory and is about to fail. Rebooting my machine clears the issue.This has happened on both my mac's. Latest is 2018 Mqac Mini i7 with 32GB memory.Any help?

When I go to sent messages and find my fax sent I do not see a way to resend. It should be in the options on the left to resend or at least on the same list to forward the message.

Can we use only extension on Polycom VVX350 Business IP Phone to use on internal use? This is our requirement

I've had some users get an "internal server error" message while in conference calls. These calls have involved users within the RingCentral app. One user would hear the message and the others would hear silence. After the message it disconnects the conference. Can someone explain what's happening? Is there a fix?

We have a user who is monitoring and answering calls for their boss - and this works fine for them - we have the RC settings and permissions all set up correctly.However, if the boss is on a call with someone and decides to conference in another individual using the Conference soft key on his phone, her phone rings when the boss calls to add the new participant to the call - like it is a new incoming call. It is very odd. And on caller ID, she sees the phone number of the original participant on the call while the phone rings.For the user - she does not know if it is a new call or if he is adding another caller to his current call. She has accidentally intercepted several of his conference calls. The boss has a Cisco 8861 and the user has a Polycom 450.In IT, we reproduced this issue using a Cisco 8861 and a Polycom 350.

I have multiple people in my office when they transfer an outside call. We have no way of seeing who is transferring the and we have no idea that the call is a transfer or just someone calling from the office. Again a feature we were told we would have but no, and no one in CS can understand the problem or even remotely help with the situation.

Is there any info on when RingCentral meetings on MacOS will introduce compatibility with GoPro webcam software?

I just found out you can use a call queue number as outbound CALLS caller ID, but can't use it for SMS outbound text caller ID... seems kind of silly

How do you answer and hang up calls from the Plantronics headset? We are new to RC and will be going live with the new phone system soon. I need to be able to answer calls without logging back into my computer if it went to sleep. I have already downloaded the the Plantronics Hub software and updated the firmware on the headset. This didn't help. Please advise. We are running Version: 20.4.10.284 Web, 20.4.11.2558 Windows
