RingEX: Phone, SMS, & Fax

My firm recently made the jump from using RingCentral Meetings to RingCentral Video. We are overall very happy but one feature we seem to be missing is the ability for a virtual background via the meeting settings. In doing my own searching I found this guide: https://support.ringcentral.com/article/Enable-Virtual-Background-RingCentral-Video.html.However, it does not seem applicable anymore? Am I missing something or is this something that was removed to be refined?

How do I change the settings for our receptionist to answer the incoming phone call live during office hours instead of it going the leave a message prompt?

I just set up my new RC account yesterday and have been playing around with the call settings. None of the call settings I've configured seem to be live, and yes I saved everything. When I make a call to test the settings, they don't seem to have been applied. Does it take a few days? Any recommendations?

We have a receptionist routing calls that come into our main line: a call comes in, reception answers, places the call on hold and then forwards the call to a user. We use RingCentral App (GLIP), not RC Phone.After the call is received by the end-user, their caller ID does not show the actual person that called but instead shows a call from our receptionist. This even happens with recorded calls making the call log and call recordings incredibly difficult to navigate and search. For an end-user to find a call that was patched through by reception, the user has to know the specific date and time and search that way; if they want to find the caller ID associated with the person that called, they have to reach out to IT to search on the admin end using reception's call log.In addition, this have proved incredibly difficult for managing call recordings because we can't simply search by the number since the moment a call is transferred by reception, it gets marked as a recording bet

I have recently been unable to authenticate using Google SAML with the RingCentral desktop app or Classic app. I do not believe the issue to be a SAML issue as the account being used to authenticate will work in other cases with RingCentral like RingCentral Phone, RC app on IOS & Android.After some searching I found this blog from Google.https://developers.googleblog.com/2020/08/guidance-for-our-effort-to-block-less-secure-browser-and-apps.htmlWhich explains the behavior I am experiencing with the RingCentral desktop apps previously mentioned. Please add Windows 10 Ease Of Access High Contrast, Text Size, and Text Cursor to the RC softphone app. For the visually impaired people who use windows 10 ease of access its a very important feature to help them get through their long work day. Having the high contrasting colors, larger text size and colored cursor makes work a lot easier and more productive while also cutting down on headaches and eye strain. Can you please add this important feature to the softphone app?

Sorry if my question is a bit hard to understand, I'm trying to grasp it myself!I work in an office where we are trying to use both RingCentral and another "virtual dialer" I suppose you'd say? (Cinq)Is there a way to run the Cinq number through RingCentral so that we can still use the call recording feature if we dial from the Cinq number? Also, can we use RingCentral to dial using the Cinq number?Shot in the dark, but any ideas are appreciated!

Currently, every time someone logs into a hot desk phone, the phone is set to only ring 4 times or 20 seconds. Our call queues are set to ring much longer than that, but the phone doesn't continue to ring after that. Can we change the default hot desking call handling time to 15 rings/75 seconds?

When we receive any sms, we get an email notifying about the sms received which is very irritating sometimes. Where we can configure to stop these sms notification mails?

The classic Ring Central phone app has 2 annoying issues.1) If I transfer a call to my colleague - in the HUD it shows him as being on a call to me instead of the original caller2) The call history takes forever to update - sometimes as long as 5 minutes - sometimes I want to call the person who just called me back and I click on the Clock and select "All" and it does not show the last call that was made until another call has taken place.

I have the basic 500 fax account. We don't do a ton of faxing at my work, so we decided to ditch the land line and old faxing and go cloud based faxing. I setup my account and everything seems great so far, except the cover pages. We will not be using the desktop app it is too complicated, it is much easier to send faxes via email and we have a group email account that will receive the faxes and attachments. This is a pretty easy setup.My issues are this. ALL the default cover pages used in the email faxing are not editable, and include the Sender Name, which it pulls from the Ring Central account so thus is my name. I do not want the name showing, just the Sender Company and address, phone, etc. Every fax seems to come from me even though I have allowed others to send faxes from email. Secondly, the default cover pages are ugly, so I would like to custom make my own and include my company logo. There is no way to do this on the website options. I had to download the desktop App, w

I was hoping that I would be able to find a way to find a users configuration settings for their extension (specifically voicemail greeting settings: if the users is using default or custom).It would be helpful to be able to export an excel of all users/extensions along with all of their configuration settings.

I am trying to mass delete instant messages. The only thing that RC allows is a single message at a time. How do I delete the entire chain from a back and forth IM session?

I need printed documentation of some text messages received. Is there a way to print text messages from the RC app?

I'm using the desktop app (Version: 20.4.10.284 Web, 20.4.10.2510 Mac) with MacOS 10.15.6.None of my contacts' names are showing in the app. All I see is phone numbers and "unknown caller".My contacts are on my Mac in iCloud. Names show up just fine in iOS.

Hi - I've given some of my managers access to the call log, but when they go to it, there is nothing displayed. I've double checked, and everything is ticked under company call log and user call log, but nothing displays for them. What am I doing wrong?

It drives me bonkers that the Ring Central desktop program hints keep popping up every time I try to answer a phone call. So to answer calls, I have to click once on the notification, then click the hint after I locate it on screen, then click to answer. It just seems ridiculous - 3 clicks!? PLEASE consider changing this feature!Brian

We would like to setup a personal auto attendant in place of a voicemail greeting on a extension. For example if someone called my extension instead of getting a voicemail greeting they would get an auto attendant with say 2 options. One reach a member of my team and two would be leave me a message.

I would like the option for my clients to push "7" for a callback and instead of having the missed call show up as just a missed call it would show back as a callback requested if they did this.

Has anyone deployed RingCental Phone via MS RDP? We are attempting to do this so desk phone users can use the ring out feature.. The problem we face is we get an error message saying the software is in use once one person using the application.

A user wants to add the RC app on their phone so it rings when working from home. I have tried to add a softphone via 'Users->Phone & Numbers->Add Phone' but it won't like me add the app.I have tested on other users and can add the app successfully in the same window. Why would it not be working for this user?
