How do I create or choose an Out of the office automatic text

    Best answer by Mary-Community_Moderator

    @Kami,

    You can set up an automatic Out of Office text reply right inside your RingCentral app.

    How to Turn On Auto-Reply

    1.Go to Settings:App menu.

    In your RingCentral app, click Settings (the gear icon) and select Text.

    2.Turn on Auto-Reply:Enable feature.

    Toggle on Reply to all texts or Reply after hours, then click Manage.

    3.Set dates and type your text:Customize message.

    Check Set start time and end time to pick your dates, type your out-of-office message, and hit Save.

    Important Limitations to Keep in Mind

    • Individual Texts Only: Auto-replies only send for direct 1-on-1 texts, not group text threads.

    • 10DLC / Carrier Registration: Your line must be fully registered for business SMS, or auto-replies won't go out.

    • Toll-Free Restrictions: If your number is Toll-Free, mobile carriers often block automated text replies to prevent spam.

    • Character Limits: Try to keep your reply under 160 characters so it sends as a single, clean text message.

    For a full step-by-step walkthrough, check out the official Configuring Text Settings in the RingCentral App article.
