Potential bug when pasting links into chat/messages

!-->

I've noticed a behaviour when pasting links and am wondering if it is a bug or intended behaviour.

Steps:

  1. Copy a URL, for example - https://www.google.com
  2. Open up a conversation on RingCentral Desktop
  3. Paste the URL in

Expectation:
RC picks up on the text being a link and turns it into a hyperlink that is clickable for everyone

Reality:
The URL is pasted as plain text and is not clickable.
Doesn't matter if it is within text or the sole content of the message
You need to paste it over itself, or use the Ctrl + L shortcut to turn it into a hyperlink

Am I missing something here?

That doesn’t sound like expected behavior, @JSI. Have you had a chance to try any troubleshooting steps so far?

I’ve checked that the link text is clean and doesn’t have any strange formatting in it.
Tested on the mobile app, wear it behaves how I expect it to.

Do you have some troubleshooting steps in mind?

Can you try this?
After pasting a URL, if you hit the Spacebar or Enter, the app will often parse the preceding text and turn it into a link. If you paste and click "Send" immediately without hitting space, it often remains plain text.
