First off, a sincere mea culpa from our team. It has been a minute since our last official community announcement—all the way back when we released v1.7.19 (Beta) & v1.6.25 (Stable). We have been heads-down building and fixing things behind the scenes, but we dropped the ball on keeping you in the loop. Going forward, we are committing to more consistent, transparent communication.
Despite our radio silence, the team has been busy. Along with a backlog of fixes, we have two major new capabilities to share—one for our end-users and one specifically for our developer community.
Spotlight: Appointment Management (Beta Only)
Introduced in Beta v1.7.26, we have rolled out initial support for Appointment Management (currently available exclusively for Clio, Bullhorn, and NetSuite integrations).
The Long-Term Vision
Our goal for this feature is to seamlessly plug into RingCentral’s AIR (AI Receptionist) product. Once fully realized, AIR will act as an autonomous digital front desk, interacting directly with App Connect to help your customers book, reschedule, or cancel appointments over the phone without requiring live staff intervention.
Where It Stands Today
To be completely transparent: the automated AIR integration is not active yet. Right now, our singular focus is on hardening the core feature itself. Before we roll the platform out to AIR, we need to make sure this appointment functionality works flawlessly on its own using the App Connect browser extension.
Because this feature is in its infancy and restricted to our Beta channel, we need your help. If you use Clio, Bullhorn, or NetSuite, we would love for you to test out the appointment functionality within the browser extension and drop your feedback here. Your insights will directly shape how this feature evolves and ensure it's rock-solid before the AI integration goes live.
Developer Highlight: Managed Auth Fields
For the developers in our community, we have introduced Managed Auth Fields to help you streamline the onboarding experience for your enterprise accounts.
-
What it does: This feature comes into play when an integrated CRM requires a static credential—like a shared API secret or tenant identifier—to be entered by every single user within an organization.
-
How it helps: When you enable this mode, a company admin can set this value once for everyone within their account, drastically easing the onboarding friction for their coworkers.
-
The impact: This is a developer-facing configuration feature only and has zero impact on existing, active connectors. (And as a quick nod to Beta v1.7.34 below, admins can now properly view these hidden fields during setup!)
